Iran has built the largest arch bridge in the West Asia 🌐🇮🇷

The Karun 4 (Karun IV) Arch Bridge is an arch deck bridge in Lordegan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran.

It has a 378 metres (1,240 ft) arch span. The 378 metres (1,240 ft) total length of the bridge comprises 15+17+300+17+17+12m span arrangement. This arch deck bridge has an orthotropic deck system with 11.8 metres (39 ft) total width which incorporates a two-way carriageway and a walkway at each side. It weighs 3875 tons and is constructed of 1212 pieces. The bridge construction finished in 2013 and opened to traffic in 2015.

The bridge flies over Karun-4 Dam Reservoir in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Iran. The deck is located 245 metres (804 ft) above the reservoir's bed and 70 metres (230 ft) above the N.W.L. Access to the bridge is possible by driving through a couple of tunnels with 550 metres (1,800 ft) and 450 metres (1,480 ft) length at two sides of bridge.

Sanctions turned out to be a blessing for Iran. I've tried some irani food products here smuggled via chaman border. They are cheaper than local products and better in quality. Good job iran 🇮🇷
Without a sword hanging over our heads we are all lazy and dependent on others.
I really want pakistan to be sanctioned. That will force us to innovate ourselves ,less depandant on US lobby and IMF and a free foreign and economic policy. And less rescources from outside means a natural accountability of corruption and all those corrupt haraamkhor generals and politicians. That's how all developed nations started once. Once they prospered the world wanted their products hence the export oriented faster growing economy.

Till last week we relied on Siemens and it's technology for our class F turbines .
That's no longer the case and we designed and build our own class F turbine

Iran joins 6 other countries in producing domestically advanced F-class gas turbine

Only 7 countries in the world possess this technology, now including Iran.

The MGT-75 class-F gas turbine is a remarkable technological achievement engineered by MAPNA, an Iranian conglomerate working in the areas of power, oil and gas, and railroad projects.

— Nerd stuff:

The MGT-75 turbine, featuring cutting-edge technologies such as a 3D axial compressor, single-crystal and directional blades, advanced cooling systems, and modern thermal coatings, delivers high efficiency comparable to international models. With a power capacity of 222 MW, it is also equipped with a Can-annular combustion system that reduces emissions and enables the mixed use of natural gas and hydrogen.

Iran’s total installed power generation capacity reached approximately 92,000 megawatts by 2024, comprising a diverse mix of renewable energy sources, combined-cycle systems, and conventional gas and steam plants.
Within this infrastructure, gas turbines play a dominant role, contributing nearly half of the total capacity and serving as a cornerstone of the national energy supply.

Despite their significant share, most of Iran’s gas turbines rely on outdated E-class or older technologies, which operate at considerably lower efficiency levels compared to modern alternatives.

To address this issue, Iranian MAPNA has been actively pursuing the commercialization and market deployment of its new indigenous F-class turbine.
