The Saudi version of the M-SAM Block II system has undergone a fundamental development package, led by the advanced MFR radar with AESA technology in the X-Band range, which relies on GaN transmitter and receiver units with a number of approximately 10,000 T/R channels, which gives it a longer detection range, superior resistance to interference, and a high ability to track hundreds of multiple air targets simultaneously.

The Korean company Hanwha announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will receive the first battery of the advanced air defense system M-SAM Block II during 2028, as part of programs to enhance air defense capabilities and protect the Kingdom's airspace.

According to a report by the Stockholm Arms Trade Institute

The Kingdom has ordered 1,000 air defense missiles to equip 10 Cheongung SAM batteries

The video shows the aircraft during the operational testing phase, in preparation for completing evaluation procedures before its adoption on a wider scale. The appearance of the “Jasser” comes after years of work on its development by the Saudi company Serb Advanced Industries, which revealed it for the first time during the “World Defense Show 2024” exhibition, before later confirming its entry into the production stage and its adoption by the Saudi Armed Forces.

“Jasser” is classified within the category of Loitering Munition, which are offensive drones that combine reconnaissance capabilities and precision strikes, as they can fly over the area of operations for a period of time in search of targets before attacking and destroying them, whether they are fixed or moving targets. It can also be operated by the operator in real time or pre-programmed to strike specific coordinates, giving it great flexibility in carrying out various combat missions.

Its most prominent and well-known specifications are:

• Range: up to 60 km.
• Flying time: about 45 minutes.
• Maximum take-off weight: 11–13 kg (depending on configuration).
• Combat load: about 3 kg.
• Ceiling height: 4,000 metres.
• Launch method: Pneumatic launcher.
• Guidance systems: satellite navigation (GPS) with direct operator control or targeting pre-programmed coordinates.
• Targeting: Capable of attacking fixed and moving targets, including vehicles traveling at speeds of up to 90 km/h, with day and thermal cameras and an automatic target tracking system.
