It cost the USA 8 trillion overall to fight it's wars in Iraq. Was it worth it ? You will be paying for the interest on that debt for the rest of your days as a person, that is guaranteed. Could the 8 trillion have been better spent on US infrastructure, health, education or investment into your economy rather than just bombs, etc as a better investment plan ? Maybe you could have had lower taxes had you not taken on that 8 trillion in debt ?

I will remind you, that Iraq had nothing to do with what happened in NYK.

There are equally undignified pictures of Americans fleeing Vietnam, Afghanistan, Somalia etc and of American soldiers committing war crimes.
This Iran war has also been a strategic defeat for the US, in case you are having difficulty figuring it out. Let's not derail this thread.

Let's also not forget that the anti-Western Ayatollah Khomeini took refuge in France before returning to Iran to lead his revolution.

The french flew him in, to cement the revolution.

The Iranians know better but just pointing out that everyone acknowledges Saudi USA tie up, but remember that was after they used the oil weapon, they literally caused a global crisis, which Iran has not and subsequently had to make nice in the West.

So oil weapon seem like a tactical tool causing some pain and are not decisive, potentially a liability, though Iran has more tools in the tool box
