Makkah Defence Alliance: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

If Afghans are not pawn of someone then they are not Afghans. Their so-called 'communists' invited the Soviets. Their so-called 'democrats' begged the Americans to stay on for decades. And their so-called 'Islamists' selling their non-existing souls to the Indians for some morsels. The only possible neighbor worse than Afghanistan would be Haiti!
And woe for Pakistan to have a neighbor like them--the typical Central Asian wanderers and plunderers from the millenia and woe for Pakistan to have lots of similar people residing in Pakistan's western regions with similar mindset. Woe to Pakistan's very geography. And blessings for the Indians where Pakistan stands between them and the incurable curse of the Central Asian hordes.

sir what are you seeing i mean where it can go and where it can end . escalation is rising on daily basis . it wnt stop kSA this time

This statement by the PM is horseshit. If the Taliban are soo problematic now, why not just take out the leadership? What is stopping Pakistan from doing that?

Even as of now, the Taliban move around freely on helicopters in Afghanistan ... why can't Pakistan even take out easy targets like that?

The issue is not the Taliban, they are who they are.. it is Pakistan's lack of hard nosed approach to them.

The other groups in Afghanistan are different, tbf

Afghanistans fate was seeded by external powers, Brits Americans and russians, they didn't choose these wars

But they chose banditry, ethno nationalism and territorial expansion without having more than a Kalashnikov.

That's on them, and they choose it with glee, the problem is their love of hatred.

Think he is diplomatically referring to Iran here and Russia India

The question is very fair. I often wonder the same. Perhaps, just perhaps, cleaning up shop in NWFP will be part of the solution. After all, you can't deal with Kabulites if the neighbouring region is only half-arsed in its approach. I would give it time.

Time to take gloves off, if , as Defence Minister and DGISPR implied, an attack like this is like an attack on Islamabad airport then it deserves a very forceful response, at some point we have to stop being so worried about what Persians think

If Afghanistan's geography and terrain and the lack of resources was not bad enough, the lack of human resources--real human resources--didn't help them. They are the victims of their geography and thus they are what they are and what they have become. If only the Soviets were allowed to succeed in the 80s then we would just another boring 'Stan who would be semi-hostile to Pakistan but not too hostile to itch for wars among themselves and on Pakistan.
Afghanistan and Afghans are cursed into the foreseeable future.

Patience bro , you want a quicky even knowing that foreplay gives better results.

But their ethnic nationalism runs deep and it goes back millennia

It's not necessarily glorious but this tribal affinity becomes genetic generation after generation, the tribe therefore is like a dragon guarding gold, education for example is a threat.

The perception of Pakistan and Punjabi is what fuels it, they still think Pakistan has a soft underbelly because they HAVE INGRESS so feel there is a chance, waiting for the moment

Iran and turkey offer no opportunity

I think Houthis and Iranians are testing the resolve of this MDA, on who's behalf? your guess is good as mine, from the moment these countries sign the PACT, Iranians were pissed and certain Pakistani's attacked it, KSA has enough jets and unguided bombs to inflict a heavy civilian toll and bomb entire neighborhoods of Saana but i doubt Houthis gives a shit about that, neither does Iranians cause they are busy. Iranians are producing weapons with one hand and with other hand they are covering their own Tashreef, but even after All of that, Gaza levelled, large parts of Lebanon destroyed, entire villages gone, now they want the same for Yemen which was already war battered. Just look at Israel now, they started it all and now they are sitting peacefully and quietly rebuilding their stocks and repairing damages, Iran hasn't fired a single shot towards Israel. Iran always give this logic that Americans are attacking them, so to hurt Americans they are hitting GCC and American military bases, but US also has large military presence in Israel but not a single shot towards them in over months... Strange!!!

To understand this, look at where the Houthi's have been expanding: Taiz, Marib* and Al-Jawf.
1791732127377.png
Losing Taiz would be a blow for the Saudi backed Yemini government, however any capture of Marib would be devastating for Saudi Arabia, if the Houthis were to push into Marib and hold that territory, they would have access to the Safer oil field, this is a nightmare scenario for both the Yemini Government and KSA.

The Saudis have been approaching neighboring nations including GCC, there is a widely held belief that the US may assist the Saudis in strikes to target missile launch and storage sites used by the Houthis particularly in the area North of Sana. Apart from this, there is a concern among many that airstrikes alone may not been enough.

The Saudis have learned that any cease-fire or negotiation window only gives the Houthis a window to re-arm and re-group before coming back stronger, the increasingly deep strikes into KSA have not only caused loss of lives, material and economic loss, these attacks whilst not particularly militarily effective have had the effect of embarrasing the Saudis as a stable partner to do business with.

The increasingly brazen attacks against Saudi Arabia have led to a change in tone among not only nations within the GCC but far-a-field as most now see this as a coercive attempt to throttle global economic output and fuel security.

With the EU currently embattled and entrenched in a war on its own borders and facing gas and fuel security, it is expected that some EU nations will likely increase their military support to the Kingdom in the form of ADS, Refueling and targeting systems. The French, Greek already have patriot and ADS batteries operating in KSA with two further batteries brought into Saudi today:

The UK are operating voyager aircraft which recently upgraded its boom[1] to supporting air-refueling for KSA F15s and Eurofighters operating in A2/AD operations and conducting strikes.

Regardless if the US enter into this conflict with aerial assets or not there is a widely held and popular opinion that air-strike along will not be enough to dismantle the Houthi capability to launch deep strikes into KSA or seriously threaten international shipping lanes across the Red Sea.

The Houthis have recently shown that the Burkan 2-H missile is capable of targeting deep inside Saudi sovereign territory:

And their Samad-2/3 drones have been effective in targeting Saudi backed forces inside Yemen alongside targeting Saudi infrastructure inside KSA itself:

Due to increasing number of missile and UAV threats posed by the Houthis and their ability to strike maritime and ground assets associated with Saudi Arabia's oil exports - the popular opinion among many analysts is that this may result in some form of ground intervention which is the only way the Saudis believe they can degrade the Houthi capability to target KSA vital infrastructure.

Every ethnicity in Pakistan claims they faced 'the Establishment' brutality. I am Urdu Speaker / Mohajir and I know that MQM claims a 'genocide' done to us in 1992 and then again in 1995/6 (Nawaz and Benazir, respectively). But that's BS! No such things happened to us. Only the anti-state elements were brutally crushed. Sindhis too faced a brutal crackdown by Zia ul Haq in 1983/84. But neither of those communities are anti-Pakistan; I'd say, along with the Punjabis, the Mohajirs are the most patriotic of all Pakistanis!
