Makkah Defence Alliance: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

Historically, GCC region was the cultural backwater of the middle east , there journey from camel to Cadillac was very swift... there's a limit to what you can achieve in such a short time.

I wonder the Saudis don’t want a capable army as it would be the end of the Saudi family monarchy as it currently exists.

They've had decades to figure it out, Saudi Arabia wasn't born yesterday. That's simply not a good excuse.

I don't even know the history or details of Pakistan-India conflicts, but I bet you can't use that justification for Pakistan when it was formed, or else it would not even exist today, would it?

This is no excuse brother, they must learn to stand up and walk on their own at some point before it's too late.

The Saudi's have been living a life of insane luxury since the discovery of oil.

While Pakistan, since its creation, has been fighting battles against proxies and against india since forever. That perpetual state of being in a war/security situation has led our forces to be well-prepared and battle-hardened and its allowed us to be at the best in terms of military preparations.

Perhaps it was the WILL of Almighty to prepare us for the truly tough tribulations ahead. Bigger responsibility of not just guarding our own territory, but helping our arab brothers as well in the entire middle East.

I think Saudi brothers need to have their own foreign legion. A band of Brothers. They work, fight, and protect their monarchy and their country as a whole.

Unfortunately MBS Should’ve read his Machiavelli. Foreigners and mercenaries have no stake in the nation and won’t be there when you really need them.

I agree, and the smartest thing that they've ever done was probably foster strong kinship and support with Pakistan all these decades. Hopefully forming the Mecca pact will be the second smartest thing they've done, it has the potential to be something transformative and beneficial to the entire region if it survives this early phase. Praying for the best.

More than weapons systems it's troops on the ground for offensive is what Saudis are asking and hoping for....both Turkey and Pakistan are showing reluctance so far... let's wait and see what give and take takes place.
I think that expectation is primarily from Yemen. Offensive ground operations and a defensive force contingent are different. Let’s see
