The UK, France, and Germany operate under different war-fighting doctrines. Unlike Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey, they don’t have hot borders or active internal insurgencies. They are benefiting from a peace dividend. The threats they do face are in part offset by their robust nuclear triads—an advantage neither Saudi Arabia nor Turkey has.

And as others have noted, there is little in the way of common platforms and shared supply chains between the alliance members. Give it a decade and see what progress is made.

Saudi says parts of two Houthi missiles fell in Mecca, shrapnel on Jeddah​

Saudi Arabia says parts of two ballistic missiles fell in Mecca, and shrapnel from the interceptions fell on Jeddah, Taif and Rabigh, after the missiles were fired by the Houthis towards the Mecca and Medina regions.

The Saudi Press Agency said the interception of the two missiles caused parts of them to fall in Wadi al-Maghmas in Mecca, and parts of the interception shrapnel to fall on the al-Nuzha neighbourhood in Jeddah, Wadi Jalil in Taif governorate and the Mustura district of Rabigh governorate.

Saudi Civil Defence had earlier said that two ballistic missiles fired by the Houthis towards the Mecca and Medina regions had been intercepted.

If the saudis were smart, they would abolish all provinces and name half of sawdi-arbia as mecca and other half as medina.

And then you would read in the news that the Houthis are firing missiles into mecca and medina region on a daily basis, some days hitting 400 km from the grand mosque, other days 50 km.
