Makkah Joint Defense Agreement: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

Thanks for succint explanation. Yes as the US vacates its Gulf footprint and retrenches closer to Israel, it still needs someone to tackle Iran and its allies. This aligns with what Saudis want too hence this pact. It has nothing to do with tackling Israel.

Why would Iran attack ANY of the gulf/ Arab states if america is gone?

What the indian in the last post doesn't realize is that the pact is got NOTHING to do with Iran. It's a program to develop the Pakistani, Turkish and Saudi militaries so that they can become major global military powers so that NO RACIST GENOCIDAL COLONIALIST MANIACS can attack or harm our peoples. IF you have no intention of attacking Pakistan, Turkiye and Saudi Arabia then this defence pact has got NOTHING to do with you. NO NEED to worry about it.
They get dead worried even if the Paks blow a balloon or hatch a pigeon! And, now you've got a trilateral mutual defense pact with the energy and defense tech tzars!!

So if India attacks Pakistan again, will Turkey and Saudi respond?

They won't respond DIRECTLY but they would supply Pakistan with weaponary, financial aid and many other resources to sustain us in a war. After operation sindoor, it is HIGHLY unlikely that the indians will mess with Pakistan but there is always a small possibility. The indian military is just a HUGE piece of sh*t in front of Pakistan. There is a far stronger enemy than india that Pakistan may have to face one day.

The enemies of Pakistan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Muslims and Islam want us to be as weak and as vulnerable as the Palestinians. The fact that we are not REALLY hurts them. The evening before operation sindoor, leading indian figures were saying that they will do to Pakistan what the isrealis have done to the Palestinians in Gaza. That is india's REAL agenda. The fact that they can't now REALLY hurts these evil people.

This will be a mutual assistance agreement.

In times of war, the supply of weapons and oil is more important than anything else. If we can do this for one another, that will be enough.
The western ideal of a rules based order has been destroyed by the Americans. Might is right and now every country looks out for its self interest. In the case of India many countries are now somewhat dependent on India's economy and trade. Just look at the numbers:

KSA India trade: ~40 Billion
KSA Pakistan trade: ~5 Billion

Turkiye India trade: ~8 Billion
Turkiye Pakistan trade: ~1 Billion

Nobody wants war to wreck things up and cause uncertainty - but when it hits the fan both KSA and Turkiye will have to consider their interests. The disparity is simply too big to ignore...

Interesting reading this thread. A few points to consider.

Not sure why people are so certain israel would attack Turkey, a NATO member. If Turkey actually believes that to be true, why bother staying in NATO? The organisation's sole purpose has always been a tool for US hegemony against the USSR, and now Russia. For any nation that holds no hostility towards Russia, there's no real benefit from being part of NATO. And it's cost Turkey dearly, for example the F35 fiasco.

Second, if all the military might of the US cannot protect the little sheikhs in the gulf from Iran, what can Pakistan offer? Clearly it's nothing conventional, so that leaves the nuclear angle alone. For that to work, Pakistan would need credible first strike and second strike capabilities, the latter of which it doesn't have. Moreover, would the US allow Pakistan to deploy nukes in other countries?

Third, for any of this to truly work, the Saudis would have to ween themselves away from the US, and that's not going to be easy, either by the Saudi shiekhs or the US willing to lose its grip. This problem is more acute when the Saudis rely heavily on US military equipment. It could work if Turkey provided all its latest weapons, used by all three, to provide interoperability, after all, that's the whole point of a defence pact like NATO, and even the Warsaw Pact, ensuring all member states operated the same common standards of weapons. At the moment, that seems unlikely. Pakistan is becoming increasingly tied into the Chinese ecosystem, the Saudis and Turks in the US ecosystem.

The only real benefit I can see is that the Turks and Saudis at least won't be competing strategically anymore, or at least to a lesser extent, reducing regional instability.

And it makes no sense vis a vis Israel/Iran. If it's targeted against Iran, why not join the Israeli/US alliance against Iran? If it's targeted at Israel, well good luck with that one for as long as the big satan supports little satan. There's literally no sense to this at all.

I'd like to point out that Iran is the only country actively resisting Israel on ideological grounds, the Arab countries gave that up a long time ago.

Some seriously extreme Negative thinking. I too seriously dislike current hybrid system of Pakistan and have openly expressed my opinion but there is difference between you and me. You will see every single thing as negatively. I have guts enough to appreciate right steps and think on things with my own mind. I will not be hell bent on anti Pakistan narrative just because my political affiliation is different.

Your whole argument is so baseless and extremely flawed that makes ZERO sense. If Pakistan, Saudi and Turkey are so obedient of United States and are so eager to tackle Iran that they sign up a defense PACT. Then why on earth we didn't participated in war with the US. Together with US, the saudi, Pakistan and Turkey could have just waged a war on Iran. Why we are waiting for the US to leave ?? That makes no sense.

Though I absolutely disgust the current military, civil leader of Pakistan but they went to Iran's SL funeral. The top most leaders. No other significant or large country sent their top most leaders. If Imran khan would have gone, we'd be going CRAZY oh see our leader went, he is fearless and blabla. Who was stopping Asim to just skip the event ? You think TRUMP would be loving asim going and hugging the Iranians ? Get a life dude! Don't be ALWAYS negative. Why so intense negativity ??

Now the challenge for the Pak Deep State is to reverse it even in the financial and trade fronts....
