Crazy silly if there doing for front line operational deployment.

I can get onboard with converting some of them to become test-beds for the development and testing of new AESA radars and mission computers and homegrown EW/ECM equipment in Pakistan but not much beyond more than that! Pakistan does need a test platform for those activities, though I much rather PAF gets a small batch of Su27 derivative types from China for those purposes..

At their age, they should be put out to retirement field at this point.
 
rumours are its for rose upgrade with griffo e . dnt know how true it is . how many rose upgrade mirages we have? if its for 30 to 40 jets i dnt think its a good investement
 
why dnt we get help from danel if w ereally want mirages for next decade

I am not sure what PAF is looking to achieve with this upgrade, or what new capability it brings interms of munitions? Even if the Grifo-E is a drop in replacement, what additional capability does it enable given the weapons the Mirage carries in the PAF fleet?

Other than better SAR capabilities, I am not sure. Its not as if we are planning to use the Grifo-E is a BVR capability etc.

Is this just a glory project for the current ACM who is a formed Mirage driver ?

may be they want to use sd 10 on mirages but i dnt get it why upgraded 40 jets which dnt have better engine also on their last legs . Aesa cant do alone unless or until we have jave complete package of avionics ew etc

The quality of the original source of information is poor, so not sure how much value it is interms of conversation.

The only logical thing I can think of, is the Mirages get the Grifo-E, and they then gain the capability to drive the AMRAMM C-5's and the F16's get upgraded/move to the C8 variant? The Grifo-E only has a max range of 75km(unless they have a newer variant with longer range?), ie less than the C5 range, so that is a problem for my scenario to get the best out of the C5 stock.

That would preserve the value of the C5 stock and also represent a capability upgrade overall ??

A C5 integration with the Grifo-E will be easier than a SD-10 given the politics involved ?

Groffo e has range around 150 plus km . i think that too that may be mirages can use amraam but then why would usa let us use it on mirages unless we have a f 16 upgardes in pipelines. we have a huge num of sd 10 plus . Thats why i said we can use sd 10 insteda of wasting in storage
