PAF is as usual gun-ho and over optimistic on what they can achieve. At beast, PAF will stop at new radar + EW and that is it. There will be no variant with structural changes, Pakistan lacks the depth of engineering capabilities to do that.

Somehow PAF still feel that JF-17 are not good replacement for Mirages. Now, i dont know if this means PAF believe that JF17 failed in providing these capabilities which a 40 year old fighter jet is providing, like is it this hard to replicate those capabilities in JF17 ?

Possibly, Mirage 5 still has a very decent range and capability, we have rewired many of these for stand off weapons, maybe PAF thinking of holding on to them for a few more years as stand off carriers. USAF is essentially doing this with the B-52, to the extent the B-1 will get retired before the B-52!!!
