Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project ..... 800 MW

The Right Bank irrigation tunnel of the Mohmand Hydropower Project in Pakistan begins at the inlet and plays a crucial role in water distribution.

This project, located on the Swat River, involves the construction of an 800MW dam and an integrated powerhouse.

The tunnel system includes low-level river diversion outlets and irrigation tunnels.

The tunnel work on the right bank aims to channel water for irrigation, benefiting 7,720 acres of cultivable land.

Construction highlights on Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project, being constructed across River Swat in Mohmand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The Dam will store 1.29 MAF of water to irrigate 18,237 acres of new land, supplement irrigation supplies to 160,000 acres of existing land, generate 800 MW green, clean and low-cost hydel electricity and provide 300 million gallons water per day to Peshawar for drinking purpose etc.

Glimpses from Under Construction Mohmand Dam - 800MW
The Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project is being constructed on Swat River approximately
48 km from Peshawar City in Mohmand Tribal Districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)
Province.The Project is a multipurpose facility with the following objectives:
i-Hydropower generation of 800 MW.
ii-Flood control.
iii-Irrigated agricultural development of 6,773 hectares.
iv-Drinking water supply of 13.30 cumecs to Peshawar.
