Speaking at the event, titled “Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment,” the Saudi scholar highlighted Uzbekistan’s role in Islamic history, particularly through the cities of Samarkand and Bukhara, which stood on the ancient Silk Road and contributed to the exchange of knowledge, science and religious values.
Al-Issa noted the opening of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent in March, Uzbekistan’s largest cultural, scientific and educational complex.
