My Trip to Boston - 2026

So I visited Boston this week, and in this thread I will be posting some of my observation and Pictures I took...

1) Boston is a very nice city
2) It partially feels like a fancy NY
3) Amazing Architecture
4) Beauituful streets, some clean others not... some streets smell very bad (urain smell)
5) Friendly people
6) Terrible Terrible traffic, narrow roads and bikers don't give a FUQ.
7) Historically rich city (duh) with people dress up nice
8) Amazing food, but extremely overpriced
9) Italian quarters is amazing with Italiani hotties, rich dudes flexing their boats
10) Lobster roll is good but i paid 46$ for it

So some background....Boston is a textbook example of white flight in the US leading to an urban Doom Loop they are trying to crawl out of. The new Seaport District full of expensive luxury condos put on former mudflats is their "Hail Mary throw to the end zone".

Darker colors show more wealth. Note the large dark ring outside the Boston city limits showing the dramatic evidence of the wealth flight from Boston. The dark areas were sparsely populated pre-1950s. Now there are millions...while the Boston population has fallen to 675,000 from 801,000 in 1950. Meanwhile the state's population has risen by over 50%.

Never been to Boston except once drove a good many miles going to Maine (i95?) and the traffic was still horrible even that far out from Boston. I have no love for cities in general. I hear many good things about Boston from some local friends here in South Carolina: Boston is vibrant, clean etc etc. But I also hear very cold there and days are very short there in winter. I'd love the intellectual life there though.
Speaking of local friends, they departed on a 35 day cruise from Boston (again in less than a year) yesterday! Lucky them!
PS. They are so Republican/Trumpeters that it will be hard for them to concede that liberal run city could be great!

My first impression is that its a very liberal city, most of the tourist attraction and shops and business proudly fly rainbow flags, haven't see much political and religious advertisments except one group near Old state house where a guy in suit was calling out for Jesus...

One funny incident that occurs Fanueil Hall market, I was walking there and 2 kids approach me thinking that I took pics for money, they offer 10$ for couple of pics, i told them i don't do that as work but i offer to take their pics for free and send it to them via nikon snap app. As soon as they realize that they call out to their group, it was basically kids (probably some school group from Israel) all gathered for the pic lol like 8-10 of them.
