Naqvi urges 'all political parties' to settle issue of more provinces, says current 'system' has collapsed

You are underestimating the grit of Asim Munir , he is no ab ki mar bhaya Mushy
Are you suggesting the cowbody commando Musharraf who carried out the Kargil operation under the nose of a genuinely popularly elected PM and carried out of a coup against him from an aircraft on the verge of running out of fuel lacked grit ? Munir is no different than Ayub, Yahya, Zia and Musharraf and his ultimate fate will be no different.

fear of getting ostracized by the west in case of martial law is gone.
Martial law will almost certainly mean loss of GSP+ in Europe and other financial sanctions. The finances of the state will completely collapse if that happens. The fauj is carrying the burden of the "hybrid" system facade on its shoulder only to retain some international legitimacy.

GHQ k baap ki jageer ha Pakistan. These incompetents didn't win any major war (which is their primary job) and experiment evrything on Pakistan like a dead body.
One unit, more provinces, council elections, martial laws, non-party elections, and so forth.

Dude, what the heck are you talking about?

Yes, it is theirs, as it is ours, how difficult is that to understand? or does Pakistan belong to some political party?
Which one? PMLn? PTI? PPP? Who?
Pakistan belongs to all Pakistanis, including the Wardi.

Didn't win a war? Have they lost a war?
If you say 1971 without context, that'll be just childish.

They have faced Terrorist neighbours to the left and right for 80 years, India and Afghanistan, please tell me which other country and it's military has faced such conditions constantly for nearly 80 years.

Bangladeshis actually tried to be friends with them, to a brotherly level and look how they were treated, like servants, they used to ask permission from India before appointing a chaprasi.
Do you ask your neighbour before what you do in your own house?

They would kill thousands every year on the border and Bangladesh accepted it. Because their military was weak.
How would you feel if your mother or father were killed on the border and your government just accepted it?
Don't talk without understanding the issues. Just constant childish crying.

You people need to stop crying all the time and learn to have reasoned discussions, always crying about this or that, pure self loathing randi rona.
It's time to stop.

You compared wrongly. Scotland is a separate region like AJK in Pakistan.
England wasn't generous. It learnt its lessons after the Ireland episode, unlike us, who learnt nothing from 71.

Scotland is not like AJK, it's like a province.
What Ireland episode? Ireland was never part of Great Britain or the UK, i hope you know they mean different things.

There was no lesson to learn from 1971, it's silly statement. Too many lies have been repeated about so-called unfair treatment.

No country has ever existed with 2000km direct and 5000km maritime distance between the two wings and a large terror supporting neighbour in-between.
Even at independence, the Muslim league and Jinnah sahib agreed with the Bengali leadership to have a separate united Bengal as a country, it was the Congress party with Nehru, Gandhi and Mountbatten who stopped it.

Before you try to apply lessons, make an effort to understand what the issues were and are.

I want to know how many in British colony the named as India were given a choice before they were made part of India?
No one.

All parts of Pakistan voted to be part of Pakistan at independence.

When india was created, not a single person voted for india. Afterwards the Dravidians even tried to force independence for the South in the 1950s, it's an oft forgotten episode.

You threw a lot 'IFs' back there, my good man.

You also said that IK was the best of the bad bunch. Perhaps & debatable - but is it because he didn't get the chance to hang around long enough or been presented with a second chance. Who knows if he too would fit the bill just like the Sharifs & Zardaris.

Lets not kid ourselves. Project Imran was an Establishment experiment. Calling it a Failed Experiment is matter of opinion. Khan may of been charismatic, popular and (maybe) honest..., but he certainly wasn't a politician by a long shot.

How many PTI fanboys can defend the whole Usman Buzdar fiasco?

Even if one were to 'nazar adaz' that f#*k up, every Politician (around the World) knows that you don't bite the hand that feeds you. Which brings me back to Project Imran. Only a qualified f#*king idiot would believe that IK/PTI won the General Elections back in 2017. When was there ever a 'saaf & shifaf' elections in Pakistan?

Baqi sub Form 47 pay jeetey hain, par PTI khood jeeti hai. Kya baat hai.

I'll end my point with this... (If) Imran Khan ever got the chance to return, I assure you that he will NOT (dare) to make the same mistakes (f-ups) as he did in 2021-22.

Next time - achay bachay ke tara, chup-chaap wo karey ga jo aaj Showbaaz Sherif kar raha hai.

THAT: is the Pakistan way - make what you want of it ...

I suppose Nawaz wasn't a project either?
Nor was Bhutto?
This project label is rather redundant when you look at the facts. It's being dishonest.

The RSS was tolerated in india decade after decade, allowed to spread it's hate, just superficial bans here and there. SO is the RSS a Indian establishment project?

All parties agreed in 2018 to merge FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) instead of creating it as a separate province.

That alone shows there is virtually no political appetite for dividing existing provinces into smaller, more manageable administrative units.

Give me something of essence , such wisecracks as in your first part of the post don't impress me...... your second part of the post is something to ponder upon....GSP + is certainly something to be worried about however it's something that's already shaky ...rest assured there will be no other sanctions..... martial law is not a certainty rather a possibility if things don't move in the right direction , I am pretty confident it won't be needed......btw , IK has been advocating for decades for the need of more provinces ...is there any change of heart or u turn is considered political expediency?

When precisely did I insinuate that they weren't either. Ofcourse they too were Projects - of different era/decades.

And when they got out of line, they too were shown the door. Infact, if memory serves - Bhutto got the deep end of the stick, before he was hanged. YOUR Leader has had it easy.

Perhaps you didn't dig deep into the 2nd Last Senntence of my post when i spoke about Showbaz Sharif.

And the only reason why Senior Sharif and Benazir were let off easy in their respective times was because they took the deal that were handed out to them and left (only to return back). We can all hate them, but that is what Politicians do. Too bad no one can actually put IK & word 'Politician' in the same sentence without looking like a complete idiot.

IK hasn't taken the deal - assuming that he will be the first one to break the system. We can all label his decision with our own opinions. You may want call it 'Brave'..., I just call plain 'stupidity' - and that is me being kind on account of being on [PDF].

Do Not assume that I am in favour of either PPP or PML-N. But those are actual Political Powers that know how to play the system - case in point: The Present.

If IK knew how to play the System, he'd be the PM of Pakistan & not just another number - 804

Height of incompetence. They want to create more provinces but cannot create proper names for them.

I certainly believe that this type of division would work even better than naming the new provinces "Siraikistan, Brahuistan, and a gazillion ...istans," which would create even more space for ethnic infighting: "hamara haq/hamari zameen khaa rahe hain, hamari identity tor di, saaar, hamara yeh kar diya, saar, to woh kar diya, etc."

@mythbuster

von Blumfeld Pai,

You are underestimating the grit of Asim Munir , he is no ab ki mar bhaya Mushy .... Pakistan is on track to become something couple of notches above hard state ...new provinces will be formed along with purge in bureaucracy....

That is what my independent sources (i.e no one from ex-chowk/PDF groups) tell me. That Herr Generalfeldmarschall has made up his minds. The 18th amendment will go and there will be a split of provinces to ensure no provincial warlord will hold up vikas.

The only thing holding back is that the FM sahib doesn't want fauji footprint on the move, but that all of it should appear to be a purely political-administrative move. But a section of the political and bureaucratic network wants the Fauj to take ownership (formally). This is a trick of course- so that if things don't work the entire blame will be placed on the Army/CDS

Regards

Firstly, i am not IK's spokesperson. Secondly, he has essentially been in solitary confinement in Adiala. How do you know whether he has had a change of opinion ( so callef U turn) or not ? Has he been allowed to make a public statement or give interviews about this issue ?

Scotland is not like AJK, it's like a province.
Please don't compare Scotland to AJK. The UK allowed them a binding Independence referendum in 2014 and they chose to remain in the UK. If the SNP can ever get a majority of votes, they will likely get another shot at an Independence referendum.

There was indeed an asymmetry, but the reason is simple....... India was the successor state being granted independence...... Pakistan was a new state being carved out on the claim that Muslim majority areas wanted separation, so that claim had to be demonstrated through votes or referendums where it was contested......

The claim that "no one voted to join India" is also false..... The Punjab and Bengal Legislative Assemblies voted on partition, and those votes determined which parts became India and which became Pakistan....

NWFP is particularly revealing..... Instead of letting the Congress led provincial assembly decide, the British held a referendum because the assembly was unlikely to opt for Pakistan..... They changed the procedure when it suited the outcome....

And that points to Britain's strategic objective..... ensuring Pakistan came into existence....Pakistan offered strategic depth, military bases, and a buffer toward Central Asia and the Soviet sphere...... Had Britain simply wanted to quit India, it could have transferred power to a Soviet-leaning united India and left constitutional questions to Indians themselves... It didn't.

Fair enough... it's being expected that ik will clear his stand on the issue through his spokesperson... let's wait and see .
