Netanyahu authorises support for Argentina’s claim over Falklands

How is an invasion going to work if your aircraft get shot down and ships hit?

I am sure that company of 100-120 will also be strengthened to a full battalion if the threat assesment requires it.

The UK will simply have a garrison(aircraft/sams/troops there that can deter whatever surprise attack Argentica can muster.
It's about distributed force.

What if Argentina put 50,000 troops on 2000 Amtrak/M113 or LS(T), or even fishing trawlers?? Even without support, you can get some, but you can't get them all with 4 fighters and a missile battery, even with submarines; there is a fixed number of targets you can engage at a specific time with a brigade-size force. You cannot engage 2000 targets all at once. If Argentina decided to throw the kitchen sink at you and literally get everything that they own that's seaworthy and throw it at you, it will probably be more than that; they will have more ships than your missiles to sink. Your defence is going to crumble; that's how human wave tactics work, and you will need an exclusion zone to beat off such an attack, and you can't do that with 4 or even 8 fighters; you are going to need a whole fleet, which is 8000 miles away from the Falklands.

Again, whether or not they want to do that is another issue, because that would mean a very heavy toll just to take the island, before having to defend it, making it a non-viable solution.

Very stupid move by Israel. Say what you will, but US is part of the Anglosphere, and how the UK perceives Israel does have some impact on how the rest of the Anglosphere perceives Israel,
US is not going to do shit on this........

Ascension Island (Which is a British Overseas Territory) hosts 1 of the 4 ground receiver/antennas for our GPS, while Diego Garcia hosts another (the other 2 were in US soil)

If the US really does threaten the UK in terms of territorial integrity, they may kick us out, and that would be a problem because we will be blind in space, as many US space-based applications were not hosted in the US (Pine Gap in Australia is another example). Well, either that or Burham or whoever next had absolutely no backbone to stand up to this...

Holding fresh referendum would be a best solution for Argentina.... offcourse if UK agrees..... in 80s most of the population wanted to be known as UK citizens.....

Snatching militarily from UKs iron grip is not a solution for Argentina....

You cannot just launch them without some assembly and the UK will have ample evidence of this happening.

Within 24-48 hours, they could easily reinforce the base with maybe two dozen typhoons in total and thousands of extra troops, who will also carry their own mobile air defence systems with them.

It is simply not going happen that Argentina can mount a surprise attack and take the Falklands.

I now wish that Argentinians would have bought those Tejas instead of F-16s.
I know you are trying to insult Tejas which is not required in this thread but still if we have to bring Tejas or any comparison with India vis a vis UK then I believe India too can't face UK.... if Goa was under British control instead of Portuguese then maybe we would have seen Goa still under British control with royal navy sitting there,,... so no use of trolling this thread and better stick to the topic....

That's why I use the term "distributed." You don't launch at one port. Argentina is a pretty big country; they have a lot of ports to launch their attack from. Even if you had picked up the buildup long before the invasion, there are just so many things you can do with 50 Typhoons and 24 F-35 fighters.

I am not saying there isn't a way that the Brits can fend off an initial invasion; it's just not realistic that way because the Argentines would have completely occupied the Falklands in less than 48 hours with just a bridge-sized force defending the town. You are asking for the 1600 or so men in the Falklands to fend off a full-on invasion from 300 miles away.......without any support for at least 24 hours......that's a very tough ask
