1- rebels won't get hold of Sam
2- military can't train fighter pilots
3- drones are cheaper 4-no major conflicts that would turn it wars in Africa anymore that we saw in 1970-1990s

Bigger issue is the cost to train and maintain an air force when you have drones available and no real intercountries conflicts

Each weapons system has its own place

Drones are great, they are something we need to pursue, however jets have their own place, especially against other jets and larger targets and formations.

Do kaalay jharrnail aapas main larr parray hain Sudan main. As usual aik ko humreeka support kar ra hae, aur dosray nu Irani turani. So far sudani jharrnail sahb backed by irani’s is winning big time with sasstay flying rikshay accurately busting the other jharrnails militia.

Sasstay accurate smart weapons is what everyone wants bhai…..big bang for your bucks.

Jahaz kon khareeday ga ab? When you know they are obsolete no?

You were already once asked to stop posting in other languages or youth language and promised to change. Now again and from what I understand it‘s in fact more stupid trolling around than a honest discussion.

SAM’s…..MANPADs……SHORADs……how else paeee?
Manpads? Only if the pilots are dumb enough to fly low, and why do that? It's the era of glide bombs and PGMS, Russians are doing the same with Su 34s with utmost impunity

They tried to do that, close enough and those SAMs get a hello from an Iskander, and in Pakistan's case it would be Fatah GMLRS

Drones can be spoofed, GPS guided munitions can have their gps guidance spoofed. Manned fighters with laser guided munitions guided by targeting pods are harder to misguide.

The drones that have harder to jam communications will be larger drones with very capable communications suites. Not the cheaper end drones.

This is an article I came upon again claiming sale of JF17s to Azerbaijan as well as potentially Iraq. Also mentions potential strategic sales to other Turkic states like Uzbekistan etc. The article is by Ilya Roubanis. Not sure how credible the author is though.

Some key highlights from the article

“The information initially circulated on social media and was soon picked up by mainstream outlets. This author was able to independently confirm the credibility of the story with sources in both Baku and Islamabad. For the first time, and after years of speculation, the stars seem to have aligned for this deal: Azerbaijan urgently needs a jet fighter and Pakistan’s offer is convincing, with the value of the deal widely shared as being USD 1.6 billion.”

…” is not alone in this approach and in this context the acquisition of the JF-17 may be seen as a test case. As Russia’s procurement infrastructure withers, Uzbekistan and other members of the Organisation of Turkic States are seen as possible next-in-line clients”

Should news about the J-31B being enlarged to allow for a side bay support an even greater need for China to develop as powerful a medium thrust engine as possible? The F-414 engine has been estimated by its designers to have the potential to go to 26,000-28,000 in max thrust (117-126 kn), and China is progressing on the WS-15 to achieve 180 kn, meaning the technology will be there to apply to the WS-19 and try to match the F-414.

A 120-125 kn engine on the JF-17 would really open up the possibility for a fighter of that size. How would that impact the PFX project? Will the PAF become more ambitious with the design revisions if the WS-19 materializes and is available within the next 5 years?

You'd have to be totally retarded to buy warplanes now being some defense minister in African country with small budget considering the proliferation of cheap drones, smart guided artillery and ballistic missiles.

Irani drones supplied to Eritrea turned the tide on the Tigray rebels. And looks like same thing happening in Sudan now with the jharrnail backed by da Irani's totally winning with ATGMs, drones and big caliber artillery rockets.

$15 million for one JF thunder which will be shot down in 2 minutes can instead buy you several hundred drones and ballistic missiles and ATGMs and what not.

Total no brainer decision for African jharrnail/ defense minister.
Yeh, just like the JF17s were shot down on Feb 27th. The JF17s are part of a defense system designed to fight war and they are formidable weapons of war. If India believes the JF17s are inadequate for war then what are they waiting for? But then poodles like you have a habit of barking.
