Karachi Picture House

A lost history that was hidden from the eyes of even the ancient residents of Karachi.

This picture is from 1939 when the United India film ‘Gul Bakauly’ was being screened.

This cinema was ‘Karachi Picture House’ which was located on MA Jinnah Road and was probably closed in the 60s.

This can be confirmed by only those moviegoers who were breathing during that time. When was this cinema established? Film history is silent about this too. There is also conflicting information about its location. However, the name of this cinema used to appear in film advertisements till the 60s.
