Old Man's Corners

The stories I can tell...

Remember moving into the neighborhood.

My second trip, strapped a couch on top of my Crown Vic driving past a four story apartment building that went up in flames.

Please keep in mind, 30 years ago I was lifting weights two hours a day, swimming a quarter mile every morning, and walking ten miles every night.

I was not someone you wanted to **** with.

Today, I am 60. Still in great shape.

Young bucks still trying to punk me out. Too old for that shit.

Have two cops on speed dial. I just text them now if I have problems.

Some good LL ball today. South Carolina pitcher was getting screwed on calls by the ump. Clear strikes were being called as balls. Of course, they were playing defending champs Lake Mary (Florida). They got it back bottom of the 6th and won.

Currently watching Vermont and New Hampshire.
Was there a ump called Fatman 🤔. 😆

Triathlete
An Ironman triathlon is a long-distance triathlon race, consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run, totaling 140.6 miles. It is organized by the World Triathlon Corporation. The first Ironman race was held in Hawaii in 1978, combining three existing endurance races.

Think I can still do this under seven hours, but need sponsors.

I may be still tough for my age, but I am not shit compared to those two, three generations before me.

Born deaf, but fortunate to have old folks as friends back in the early 1970s when other kids my age wanted nothing to do with me because I could not hear or speak.

A hernia, slipped disc, heart attack, they thanked the doctor for the diagnosis and went back to work on the farm. They had a family to raise.

Every year at the truck stop, a hobo or two will be passing through town and stop to rest a few.

Last year it was "Mad" and his pet wolf (yes, a real wolf). Freaked everyone out. After work told Mad to put his wolf in the back seat of my car and took them home to let them sleep on my front porch.

This year was an old hobo. Offered him free food and fountain drinks. He refused. Thanked me, dug in his pockets for enough change for a fountain drink and moved on.

Told me it is getting harder to be a hobo. People don't understand and getting meaner.

Found out this year the house I rent once lived a kind old woman who fed hobos who jumped off the train across the street, from my kitchen window ninety years ago.
