So not to throw too much “shade” at Rome…but my first impressions are that Paris is much nicer visually.

First off we got in the taxi at the CDG airport (which has a bizarre gate design with “tunnels” stretching at least twice as far as elsewhere leading to a “no man’s land” in the terminal. I’m guessing they must use two: one for getting on which goes through the boarding area and the other goes directly to the carousels) and happily our elbows weren’t in each others faces in the cab (ok Rome is not THAT bad but you get the picture). I even told that to the cabbie and he laughed.

So I also think Rome gets far less rain because the trees there don’t look happy or healthy. Paris has deep green thicker trees. Far less bars over 1st floor windows too. Makes a huge difference in the landscape viewing.

I know France is anti-English encroachment so the taxis are on radio stations playing about 50% English songs vs 99% in Rome.

Still sadly the graffiti is just as bad as Rome (can’t blame the usual fallguy demographics in the US I guess) and all the streets/sidewalks need a power wash.

Not sure of the population density but there are far more people walking the streets of Paris than Rome.

Tomorrow the exploring begins…

PS wow if Rome was 5 gallon flush toilets Paris must have 7. I always thought Europe was supposedly more environmentally friendly than the US. Seems they missed the memo saying “oh please conserve water to save the environment…will somebody please think of the children…think of the children!” and now we in the US are stuck in anemic land of low flush toilets and aerated faucets.

Grumpy old man vacation review/update

Well after Paris got a glowing review from me over Rome…Paris just had to literally blow it.

Parisians are chain smoking cigarette addicts…as in 1000 times worse than Italians. It’s not even close.

Go to an outside cafe at night to have a nice dinner and you’ll still be gagging. Geez

Go to Belgrade. The Serbs are just as bad.

My oldest spawn vacationed in Croatia years ago. She said they were bad too.

Well I’m not sure if it is a localized thing but my state has taken the complete Nazi route towards smokers. You basically can only smoke in your secret attic room behind the bookcase.

Hmm this reminds me of another thing from yesteryear.

Just finished a two block walk with Sunshine in record time. Trippy was sitting outside the police station. He joined us on the way back home.

Told Emma, police dispatcher, she is more than welcome to call for Trippy on her lunch break, he has been waiting in the shadows across the street for a few days now. LOL!

Going back to coconut oil for awhile. Ringworm is no joke. Hard to get rid of.

One of my side hustles as an overnight bellman at the Westin Hotel in downtown Detroit was going up to the 72nd floor of the Renaissance Center to the cigarette machine and selling packs of cigarettes for $5 each to guests too scared to venture out after midnight. Had an elevator key to access the floor after hours.

Another side hustle was for newly married couples. $20, I will give them private access to the floor overlooking the night lights of Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.

Security knew what I was doing and never said anything. On my lunch break I sometimes will be in their control room playing chess.

After work we will all head to the infamous Anchor Bar where we will get drunk. By nine, ten AM, we will all head home knowing the police will never pull us over. Just stay in your lane, don't run into anything. LOL!

The worst thing about some smokers is when they have little kids and they have no problem leading them into a smoke filled room.

I was at some wedding reception in a rented hall full of chain smokers and it got so bad i had to leave. Meanwhile lots of infants were in there.

When my oldest spawn was little, she hated wanting to go see her grandmother (my mother) because she smoked and smelled so bad.

My mother asked me one day why we didn't bring the baby more often. I told her why.

I didn't like the smell when I was growing up and I wasn't going to force her to have to smell it as well.

You were not willing to share your original profile of PDF. I requested you several times and then you revealed some of your accounts so I had adjusted your profile up to multiple IDs starting from 2017. I had to adjust at least twice when you shared other profiles if I remember correctly.

But then you came with one more ID of Superboy and I told you that I only adjust account once and despite multiple requests you were not sharing it and when you did, you shared multiple accounts. So it stays how it is…

I will voluntarily do it once more whenever I have time but it won’t be urgent priority and it will be the last time when I adjust your account.

I will do it next week hopefully

Time to hit the shower and get ready. 1st game is at 1000 MST. Will be enjoying Game 2 with some friends at our new favorite sports pub starting at 1230 MST.
