Muhammad Ali’s comic line – "Earnie hit me so hard, it shook my kinfolk back in Africa” – was meant in part for laughs but you get his point.

Journeyman Leroy Caldwell fought many of the best heavyweights from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. He was asked for a Mayweather Promotions video: Who punched the hardest? “Shavers,” said Caldwell, who lasted less than two rounds against him. And when did he know he was in trouble in that fight? “When they were taking my gloves off.”

Shavers never won the heavyweight title but people are still talking about that punching power. Said legendary trainer Angelo Dundee: “Earnie wasn't really a good boxer, but God, his power was amazing."

The first pitch to Story was the first four-seam fastball Valdez had thrown all season and it was directed right at the middle of Story’s back.

Suspension likely. Was never thrilled about this signing.

Flaherty is now the only remaining starting pitcher on the Detroit Tigers' opening day roster.

Pitching chaos continues.

The Giants are a bad 👎 team
But at least you experience one of the greatest dynasties in MLB not long ago. All I've ever ax is just one friggin championship by the then San Diego Chargers or Padres just one before I leave this earth. Unfortunately we only have one pro sports team and it's up to the Padres to finally break San Diego's curse of not having a championship team.... aint holding my breath.

Lol. Sorry I don't know where this post came from for some reason I had to vent.

Meanwhile, in our little area of the state, we're still running the heat at night. Was 44F when we got up at 0530.
