Last week, Oklahoma set a new September record for most 100°F days. We are still having them.

This summer is now ranked in the top five all time for 100°F days, and that does not include all the other days of 97-99°F.

Wildfire threat is high across Oklahoma. My county has had a burn ban in effect for a month now.

Whereas we had rain last night and again a few hours ago. The forecast calls for, and my having just come from outside can confirm it, we will get rain again later this afternoon and it is supposed to rain through late tonight.

Too bad they didn't show the same outrage over Lindsay Clancy murdering her children with an exercise band.

So when I bought my house 21 years ago i ordered a fancy french door Kenmore Elite refrigerator that they didn't have in stock. They temporarily delivered a plain-jane white refrigerator as a fix while i waited (that was nice of them). When they finally delivered my fancy fridge they said they could haul the other one away or I could buy it for $99. I was like "can you haul it down to the basement too for that $99?..they said 'sure'"

I still have them both.

Speaking of houses my wife went on this paranoia fit because the roof is 21+ years old and she figures it's going to fail any second. She went and got all these contracts for solar with a free roof and some guy was at the door this morning to look at everything...including the rafters in the attic. I was like "oh brother".

So after looking both the guys come up to me.

them: "wait a minute...how old did you say this roof is?"
me: "over 21 years old"
them: "this roof is in phenomenal shape..the outside is like 2 years of wear and under the rafters it looks like it was installed last week"
me to wife: "ha!!"
