I remember Life magazine dedicated a whole issue to the Apollo landing with color pictures.
 
Not so fun fact:

It was 19 years and 1 day between the Apollo 1 and Challenger disasters. And, almost 17 years later until the Columbia disaster.

Four years old when the moon landing occurred.

Can remember the adults sitting around the TV that day, while I was enjoying my new board game.

When the big event was about to occur, my father put me in front of the TV and told me to watch.

Wasn't until three years later I was beginning to hear and speak for the first time. (I was born nearly deaf)
 
Was just smiling and waving at a police vehicle driving the dirt street just south of my house.

He ignored me, guess I wasn't important.

If the officer paid attention, he would have slowed down so I could tell him he forgot his gas cap where he just fueled up.
