Old Man's Corners

Ok here's a Q?
I'm retired so my life seems to have "regimented " itself. I mean I'm doing the same things and chores every day. Don't get me wrong I'm a happy chappy etc but here is the crunch. When something happens which is out of my "comfort zone " l get stressed out.
What about youse guys and gals.

In my late 60s. Don't have the privilege of retirement. Got my old wildlife farm which I manage with my sons. Up at the crack of dawn and usual farm activities. Sit in my bakkie and check Facebook, some international news and this forum when I'm near a mast. I identify with getting chipped up when stuff happens out of the comfort zone. Some people will refer to us as crabby old men and some will regard us as stubborn old geezers. Most in my family understand that I earned my right to be set in my ways and they respect that.

PTV used to show these American series, the most popular one being The Six Million Dollar Man. Every weekend the units’ kids used to cluster around that set, twisting the antenna this way or that, hoping to catch a scene or two.

The Six Million Dollar Man was wildly popular in Pakistan. The 'Sasquatch' episode was my best. And we boys pretended to fight each other in slow motion and make the silly sounds watching something in the distance using our 'bionic' eyes like 'Steve Austin' did. Haha.

Speaking of bionic eyes, I had one eye fairly weak while the the other normal. So I was able to focus on remote objects better using the normal eye and thought I actually had something like a bionic eye! I swear! It was only around late 70s/early 80s when an ophthalmologist examined my eyes that I found I needed glasses for 'myopia' and since then I have been wearing the 'spectacles'. Haha!

I can't answer for myself as I have a few years to go to retire. But I don't foresee retiring and staying home. Sleeping in, late breakfast, gardening, flipping channels... I am already terrified of the thought. A lady friend of mine retired a couple of years ago. She was bragging about sleeping in, cooking, eating whenever. But she stays home and flips channels. That's a nightmare existence for me.
I am planning to downsize and travel in a few years when I retire. In fact, just today started to put one of my properties for sale through a real estate agency. Downsize and travel.
Also, if guys notice from my posts above, I am still out with wife enjoying the nightlife as if I am only in my 20s. My motto is 'Growing up means growing old, so who'd want that?!'.
