Oman examines JF-17 fighter jet purchase with Pakistan and China while operating F-16s and Eurofighters

Why are you guys assuming that we are not inducting more BLOCK III? BLOCK III is our beast we can induct as many as we can and don't announce things for as long as we want.
How many Block 3 have we inducted so far.

Previously, it was reported that the production capacity for the J-10 series of fighter jets at the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) is approximately 60 aircraft per year. ------ Among the primary fighter jets currently in service with the Chinese military, this represents the lowest production volume.

For the JF-17 series, the primary constraint is the volume of orders—encompassing both requirements from the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and export contracts. Without a large number of orders to support it, there is no point in increasing the production line's capacity.

If PAC were to invest in expanding the capacity of its existing production lines to enable an annual output of 60–100 JF-17 series fighter jets, how many years of production could the current order book sustain? Ultimately, any investment in production facilities is incorporated into the cost of production—this is a fundamental principle of industry.
Yes, all valid points and thus the current situation managing the orders and domestic needs. The key for Pakistan is whether it even makes sense to invest in enhancing the production lines given the uncertainty of future orders.

All the export Rafale order have seen the first delivery 3 years after 1st bank wire. It doesn't mean all the jets are delivered all together.
It's the same for all the jet manufacturer. Even the USA or China.
Your J-10 were not all delivered in a single batch.

Technology can change? you are right. It is why a F5 std is on the drawing board.

Bhai leave it to nations producing and exporting jets in reality.

If your nation doesn't produce and export any jets, you can always fry a samosa and have it with some chutney. Even better for you if the samosa is fried in UAE.

Dont let Bonplan/Raju/DeathZone/Rakesh derail this yaar

Things change. Lets see how Oman see's the future?

I do not think it will change, they like persians and arabs and afghans hold the historical ties with hindutva very dear.

Regardless of what the trolls say here, Oman has made a smart decision in examining the JF-17 Thunder fighter jet.

JF-17 Thunder is a successful project unlike some Indian junk projects or overpriced western shit which comes with dead switches.

JF-17 Thunder fighter jet is a good plane in its 4th generation class, and is good for developing countries.

When the JF17 manufacturing production lines was setup, there were 2 lines, with an annual capacity of 48 units/year.

PAC had to reduce the that to 1 x line as the overseas orders did not materialise.

I don't see PAC looking to increase that back to 2 x lines anytime soon, the projected orderbook is too small for that.

If Oman is looking for a new fighter to compliment what they already have, they could "leave PAF alone to recapitalise the PAF fleet with JF17C by focussing on the J10CE instead where there is more capacity ? Infact, no one new should be buying the JF17C, that way it will force the PAF to retire the old relics of F7/Mirages!!!

Pakistan has already sold them the Mushshak, so the relationship exists already with PAC mind you.
As for the adjustments to PAC’s production capacity for the JF-17 series of fighter jets—both in the past and looking ahead—that is a highly contentious issue, and not one suitable for discussion here.

IMO, PAC’s current production status for the JF-17 series aligns with prevailing realities. There is no need to either further scale back or expand production capacity at this time.

My perspective on this may differ from that of some of my Pakistani friends. That’s not important! There’s no need for us to debate this in this thread.

In modern industrial systems, there is a technical term called "intelligent flexible production line." If you are interested, you might want to look into it.

So, let me share a "secret" with you—one that has completely eluded the international English-language media!

Take the JF-17, J-10, J-20, and J-11/15/16 series, for example. While media reports often attribute these aircraft to various distinct organizations, the reality is that the airborne radar systems for nearly all of these Chinese-made fighter jets originate from a single facility. The "manufacturers" you hear about are, in fact, the research and development entities or the primary program oversight bodies—not the actual production plant. This facility employs "intelligent flexible production line" technology, which allows for the simultaneous manufacturing of different products on the very same assembly line. Naturally, this capability relies on a specific set of prerequisites.

Thunder also fits a niche for clients that want to have something ITAR free but not fully align with China. Yes, it has Chinese systems in, but the commitment is to Pakistan not China. That alone is something many may find attractive these days after US behaviour. Even Gripen and KF-21 will subject buyers to US approval on major subsystems.
Pakistan will never sell to any ant-Chinese country so buyers who are offered JF-17 know that there are no strings here

Correct. JF-17 is a reliable product with no "conditions" attached.

Ridiculous to attach conditions to a product. lol.
