In response the TTP and BLA launched attacks inside Pakistan, including at a masjid near the capital, forcing a Pakistani response in Afghanistan that spoils the talks and keeps Army and Taliban at loggerheads. That suits the TTP and BLA.

So, they bombed Afghanistan because a high-ranking officer was martyred yesterday (Lt. Col. Shahzada Gul Faraz). It is becoming a pattern, I guess, since we bombed Afghanistan after that Orakzai ambush in which Lt. Col. Junaid Tariq? was martyred along with 11–13 other soldiers.

If we look at it from a common soldier's perspective, what exactly do we see? The military will only take action if a high-ranking officer has been martyred, otherwise, they don't give a f*ck. A morale decreasing factor? I mean when retaliation follows the death of a senior officer, it can surely create the perception that rank determines response.
