Nop, both are not the same and never were.No, if you were supporting - you called them Mujahideen - now you are fighting against them - calling them terrorist. It's you choice whatever you name it.
But for the third people - both are the same - only narrative and national interests has changed.
It's changed like -
Mujahideen > good Taliban -bad Taliban> now terrorist ( for Pakistan)
I am only discussing this with you because your confusion or bias is no different from what many of us Pakistanis also have, under similar assumptions.

The Taliban were the children of those mujahideen who were provided free boarding lodging and religious education in Pakistani madressahs , so that their parents can fight the Soviets, care free.
They grew up to be the " Taliban " , which as the name suggests, means students, hinting their origins.
