there is a poster feature everyone uses.

The Syrian air force, with their Mig-29 's, kept the Israelis at bay. They fired SOW's at range, but could never fly over Damascus and drop dumb bombs.

The way things are going on in the region, i dont expect any diplomatic breakthrough between Afghanistan and Pakistan any time soon. Even if this happens, what are the chances that this would be long lasting?

No mostly likely T-55 or T-62 if it's Afghan or Type 59 or 69 if it's Pakistani, Al Zarrar's AFAIK aren't deployed on the Western border.
Al Zarrars were deployed during the height of the insurgency. I don't know if they are now.
On the old forum, there was a whiole thread on tank losses during operations.

Yes but they aren't permanently stationed on the border areas

Resources you just don't have
They will bleed you bankrupt if this ends long term war of attrition your done
USA spent trillion dollars
Russia spent 10 years and lost 90000 soldiers at height of their super power status

If this becomes attritional and Taliban gets support from allies I won't say whom I'm talking multiple allies you guys are heading for your own Vietnam
We have no intention of invading Afghanistan for this reason, there are other workable options

A month long aerial campaign would cost around $25 million combining the cost of 450 guided munitions based on PAFs average of 15 airstrikes per day and maintenance+fuel required for aircraft.

Not exactly chump change but considering more money is Spent each month giving luxury's to MPA's MNAs and judges, It's well worth the comparatively small cost
