Taliban Defense Ministry: No one should worry about any part of Afghanistan's territory

Enayatullah Khwarazmi, spokesperson for the Taliban Defense Ministry, without addressing the main issue of Pakistan's seizure of 32 square kilometers of Afghan territory, wrote on X that this group's defensive forces decisively defend Afghanistan's territory and, according to him, no one should worry about any part of the country's land.

The Taliban Defense Ministry spokesperson added that all areas along the Durand border are under the control of this group's fighters and emphasized that "there is a strong commitment to protect difficult-to-access areas as well."

These statements come at a time when, for the past month, the Taliban have fled from border posts in the Kamdesh and Bargmatal districts of Nuristan province, and the border routes are now under the control of Pakistani military forces.

Seems like Afghan Taliban is facing some domestic backlash or legitimacy issues due to alleged Pakistani forces ground action:

The nature of the kind of operations being conducted seems confusing now with talks of apparently areas of Nuristan, etc, being under Pakistani control.

From what I gather, I think only the Ghudwana enclave was captured because of the geographical sense it made and the ease of defence it allows.

Beyond this I don't think Pakistan has intentions of taking land, it'll be airstrikes and artillery.

The Wakhan stuff is probably just internet hype to put pressure on Afghanistan. But I think salami-slicing punisment tactics should be considered, every time they fu*k about take an easily defensible geographic area.

I will say, their propaganda network, at least on the formal side, runs more competently compared to Pakistan's. We have good general ideas but our execution is always horrible, likely lacking competent manpower to run it with attention to detail and narrative ideas.
