And I believe the Afghan Taliban delegation was willing to give a verbal assurance during the talks which had the Turks / Qataris as mediators but were not willing to give their commitments in writing. It must have been a big disappointment for the mediators to have put in so much effort and see that fail due to the stupid Taliban.

Ok Asim Munir does not get it but you do? 95% of the casualties are of our Pashtun officers, men and civilians. While they may have a difference of opinion on the modalities of dealing with the Taliban, they have no sympathies with the very same Taliban that are murdering them and their people.

Pakistan had to do something. The alternate is surrender to TTP which is what you and quite a few others here seem to be peddling. There is always a risk that things could get worse in the short term but Pakistan is not looking at this as short term fix.
