GHQ didn't hope, they believe in TTA.You have misinterpreted my realism towards the Taliban threat as 'enmity'. I harbour no personal grudge, bias or ill will toward Afghans or Afghanistan.
With the disclaimer out of the way, the dilemma state of Pakistan faces is that our Afghanistan foreign policy is built on hope.
We hoped Taliban 2.0 will cooperate with us. They didn't.
We hoped Taliban 2.0 will deny TTP safe heavens. They didn't.
We hoped Taliban 2.0 will moderate their stance on oppressing women. They didn't.
We hoped.
And we hoped.
This is not policy making. This is fantasy.
This is why CPEC funding has dried up and investors have fled because no one buys Pakistan's policy prescription of hoping that TTP, ISKP and BLA will disappear one fine morning and Taliban are now good boys.
You just need to ask yourself how many countries in the world have formally recognised the IEA regime. Everyone sees through the facade.
In any case, the incompetence should be punished.
