I am for once pleasantly suprised with Pakistan, solid set of objectives that are both effective and realistic. Took a while to finally get here but just in time.
Pakistan’s strategic objectives (in Afghanistan) now include:
a) destroy border-areas infrastructure of terror facilitation;
b) knock out the arsenal the Taliban use to create border trouble and under that umbrella send in suicide bombers
c) occupy strategic posts beyond the border to create a buffer zone to keep Taliban driven incusrions in check
d) ensure that the current group is militarily so weakened that others find space to assert themselves (elimination of military infrastructure & ammunition depots across the country inherited from the US/NATO)
e) tell the Taliban leadership clearly that their policies will have unbearable costs. Its for them to change track quickly.
Reminder on the objectives. They were pretty effective, clear and realistic.
