What is lost in this under-dog story is that all of the terrorism is emanating from Afghanistan. Pakistan did not initiate this war. The fact of 3000 Pakistanis murdered by Taliban supported terrorists in the past 3 years should be highlighted on every forum.

Second, since Pakistan is in the war now, we just have to keep on dismantling their infrastructure.

As far as innocents dying, that would be deplorable but among all the propaganda, what is lost is the exact nature of loss of lives to civilians.

Taliban have a tendency to lie and push out fake propaganda, and given their weak position on the ground, their only viable pushback is Indian supported propaganda (using the Indian SM presence) and friendly media (Al Jazeera, Sky News etc.)

Question for Pakistan is how much media pressure we can sustain prior to attaining a somewhat favorable outcome either through battlefield impact or a negotiated settlement.

I would differ in that while they package it as a religious ideology to push the actual wish is their ethnic superiority issues stemming from centuries ago.

Until that is “disproven” in “unfortunate” macabre ways in as public ways possible - their homosexual hypocrisy constantly exposed compared to their so called Islamic facade - you cannot defeat this nonsense

That being said we should be very clear that this is no longer a limited conflict and could end up into a full Iran-Iraq type multi year conflict because Afghanistan has plenty of nutjobs to replace any you kill one by one.

Which is why the strategy to dismantle infrastructure and military capacity is the right move. Let them operate in a depleted manner to govern Afghanistan and have to contend with their adversaries within the country. That takes pressure off Pakistan.

How many times have you seen TTA militants flee the fighting scene unharmed as if Pakistani military is not interested in killing unnecessarily, those fleeing militants could have been killed easily. Why would someone plan and drop bombs on a hospital. TTA is trying equate Pakistan with Israel.

I doubt Afghanistan will give up any terrorist group at this stage, it has far gone past that stage. At this point, the two groups are intertwined and functionally the same, even if one leader wanted to, the rest will strongly oppose it and kill him. It is an unrealistic goal. The Afghans have made their choice and it is the Loy Afghanistan fantasy.

It's time to plan beyond the Taliban to corner and choke it strategically within Afghanistan. The conflict is likely to last a lot longer at varying intensities.

Pakistan needs to ensure the war cannot shift into our territory any more than it already has.
