IMPORTANT SECURITY BRIEFING

From 2021 to 2025, a period of four years, Pakistan held negotiations with the current Afghan regime, which demonstrates that we want to resolve every issue with Afghanistan through dialogue.

During these four years, various Pakistani delegations, including ministers and National Security Advisor-level representatives, visited Afghanistan for negotiations, while delegations from the Afghan regime also continued to visit Pakistan.

Pakistan’s demand is simple: the facilitation, sheltering, and patronage of terrorists and their leaders must be brought to an end.

The Afghan regime did nothing beyond issuing statements and making promises, while terrorism continued to emanate from Afghanistan.

It was only after the Afghan regime failed to fulfill its commitments that Pakistan began a military response one year ago.

Pakistan still seeks peace and friendship with Afghanistan today, but it has one clear demand: the sheltering, patronage, and facilitation of terrorists must stop.

Still many questions unanswered.

Who okayed from Pakistans side leaving $7 billion worth of US weapons with the taliban without any agreement in place to specifically cease hostilites with Pakistan?

Why has taliban been recieving $40 million a week and still allowed to continue their proxy war in breach of the doha accord?

Why has Pakistan allowed these grey areas to form since 2019 and gone to number 1 in the terrorism index rankings?

We can surely put some of the blame on the taliban 5th column and lifelong ideologue Imran Khan but the military would have also had major oversight. Considering the history of taliban and its proxy war since 2007 why wasn't this challenged? Why weren't the weapons promptly destroyed after uptick in attacks in 2022?
