There is no jealousy per se - more a case of pseodo religious cultural driven isolation promoted by an archaic power structure that serves great for monarchies/dictatorships and so on.

Kabul in the center there or Islamabad here is then able to project influence without needing costly(or in case of Pakistan ineffective or corrupt) bureaucratic structures. In turn you get cannon fodder when needed along with no headaches.

Imagine if these people were civilized, progressive and understood the bigger picture.

Pakistan would have been a peaceful middle income prosperous country by now with plenty of jobs and opportunities. Clean and developed similar to Turkey.

Overseas Pakistanis would have moved back with their expertise and ideas.
