Either you establish your control or leave a vacuum to be filled by others.

There are 40 millions Ukrainians.

Either Russia captures Ukrainian territory and nullify any pro-west uprising on its borders or let Ukraine become a part of Europe and Nato, and the threat to Russian motherland increases manifold.

Either Pakistan captures afghan territory and makes it a part of Pakistan and nullify any pro-indian / anti-Pakistan attacks / uprising on its borders or let Afghanistan become a part of Anti-Pakistan axis, and the threat to Peshawar and islamabad increases manifold.

Disintegration of Afghanistan Is the only solution. The northern regions become independent new country broadly aligned with Tajikistan and Pakistan.

The border pushtoon provinces become a part of Pakistan.

The smaller the land available to the enemy, the better it is for Pakistan.

The sooner, the better.

The insurgency can only be managed before being punched down IF we can controll the porous border. At this point in time a mere fence is little to no hurdle or deterrance for the TTP or BLA.

As per the original plan, forts, border management system (thermal radars + UCAV) and heli support is the only solution for controlling the border. We must keep pounding any possible enemy installation or gathering across the border, this will bear fruit once its done round the clock for a yr or so.

If we can get one or more central asian country to seal the border for Afghanistan, then it will severely hurt the Taliban government's grip on the government. Ideal would be Iran sealing the border but they always play a double game.

Fire fighting, like we are doing now, is only going to boost the morale of the enemy.

They should cluster bomb the villages and towns where these fighters come from to destroy the training camps, weapons depots and their entire family tree.

A dozen UCAVs are cheaper to fly and maintain than having a few Hilux blown away now and then and loosing a few life every week or two.

Secondly, there needs to be a strict protocol that any ambush info should lead to UCAV and choppers reaching the area less than half an hr and start blowing the talibans into pieces. Do it for a few dozen times and bear the fruit. Right now, our forces report back an ambush and are wait for backups which usually leads to alot of material and body losses. You are making and even exporting drones.
Why cant they be flown immediately out of the 4 to 5 air strips or catapult launched from the half a dozen cantonments in the area? Rain fire on the atta kers indiscriminate.
