I'm surprised the Pakistanis responded, but it seems that given the lack of any response from the Iranian military during the strikes, the Iranians may have been informed about the response from Pakistan. Maybe they agreed to a 'tit for tat' against some mud huts and undesirables for both countries on either side of the border.

That is also my feeling.

If so, that is good news because it means de-escalation and focussing on the real enemies.
