Believe it or not, europeans are pretty good at fighting and killing eachother, regardless of US policies.
The only reason that hasnt happened since WW2 is actually US enforcement of peace in Europe.
But yeah, Israel is really digging its own doom. Another interesting thing is that the US still hasnt stepped in directly against Iran, even after recent missile attacks on the settler-colonial state. Which tells that Americans may not regard Israel as important enough to worth engange in a full direct conflict with Iran.
I agree with you partially. IMO the only thing that why US didn´t engage directly with Iran it is the huge cost of opportunity. The losses would be so high that it should be discarded inmediately.
Israel it is crucial and vital for the US interest in the region. And I am pretty sure US would go to the war even against Iran if survival it is directly threatened by Iran.
But the reality it is another. Israel´s behaviour from years ago (starting IMHO at the assassination of Isaac Rabin) have been in radicalizing in a endless spiral commiting crime after crime. And US and their public oppinion are aware about that. And I agree with you that this spiral are destroying Israel from inside.
The Resistance Axis are just a symptom, a fever if you want to look like it, because inside of the Knesset there is a virus, which is messianic, pervasive, ultra-nationalistic and because of that racist and criminal and whenever you engage in killing spiral of civilians, journalists (I will never forget Abu Akleh assasination just in the neck and during the funeral her coffin was desecrated) and activist (we never forgot Mavi Marmara´s crimes), the result are a though and numantine resistance.
For that reason I think US won´t attack Iran. Iran has been acting wisely, using their regional actors accordingly to proportional responses, escalating and de-escalating without trespassing the war crimes and crimes against the peace (which is another category). CIA knows that and Pentagon also. US lacks legal basis to declare war against Iran. Even in the progressive retreat of the defunct JCPOA by Iran.
And that is the fascinating way Iran is winning this war. With the might of their missiles in one hand and with the patience of a prophet on the other.
