Opinion Piece: India’s Potential Is Running Dry

Damned propaganda. India's car exports have never reached world number three. And India's proclaimed GDP growth rate for 2026—in real terms, it may well turn out to be negative.

2025 Indian GDP Indian government estimated $4.18 trillion; IMF reported roughly $3.92 trillion
2026 Indian GDP IMF estimated $3.92 trillion, with India dropping from 4th to 6th globally
The reality is right in front of us. Modi shamelessly parades a 7.6% growth rate. What good does it do, other than making the rest of the world laugh at India? Do you really think you can hide the truth from 14 billion eyes around the world—just because there are so few of you Hindus?
You for sure don't know what real and nominal GDP growth means. China's GDP in nominal terms was stagnant for past 3 years until Yuan intervetion.

Point remains
The fact that Q1 of this year saw the ratio of China and India 4-wheeler automobile production drop to ~3.5x instead of usual ~5x in previous years does indicate the potential is drying.

Steel production ratio at the start of decade was ~9x, today it is down to ~5.5x.

Yes, china still remains far ahead and India will likely not reach where china is today, but then India doesn't have as much resources as china has and is a democracy with its own flaws.

Tata Motors bought third-rate gasoline car technology from South Korea's SsangYong—and produced the Scorpio N
Scorpio is a Mahindra product, clown.
India is worlds 3rd largest car manufacturer not exporter

We'll overtake US and Japan in next few years.

Scorpio is a Mahindra product, clown.

We'll overtake US and Japan in next few years.
Later I'll send an article about GDP.

I'm used to mocking those low-tech, freshly-assembled relics. Last year in Australia, a friend pointed at a brand new Scorpio N parked by the roadside and said it was a Tata product. The outdated exterior and ancient halogen headlights had us laughing out loud.

But it wouldn't be fair to blame my friend—because I have always mocked the great Tata. That colonial-era legacy has been a bloodsucking tool of Westminster for over a century, plunging its needles directly into every capillary—from salt, spices, and simple food, to electricity, steel, and aviation. Incalculable wealth has drained out of the Indian subcontinent. But this zombie has spent a hundred years operating on nothing but basic instinct, never creating for Indians a single leading industry, technology, or culture. It only keeps sucking blood, driving its needles ever deeper until they reach the poorest Indian.

And of course, the billionaires you Hindus are so proud of are no exception. In such an extremely poor country, there have emerged the most Asian billionaires—something even Japan and Israel have not achieved.

As for surpassing Japan and the US in car production—the more of these obsolete junkers you produce, the greater the cost of replacing them. And that cost is not only economic, but also technological, and political.

There is good news, though: BYD is coming in a few days. Let's see what chips Modi has left to trade.

Again, it is not even a Tata product. It belongs to Mahindra.

Only lower-end variants come with halogens.

Again, the car doesn't belong to Tata. And Tata is a conglomerate.

Your stock market being screwed by CCP's policies doesn't mean Indian one too would be. India's economy is big enough to have that many billionaires and that valuation is backed by revenues and future growth prospects.

Valuation doesn't mean money in bank accounts.

Keep coping, there are multiple MNCs competing in the Indian market including Korean and Japanese ones.

Wow—Modi's magic has worn off!has it? So now you're being shown the truth? Take a look at what you were saying before.

As for India's automobile production, it reminds me of a joke. When the electric vehicle revolution arrived, the great Tata Motors bought third-rate gasoline car technology from South Korea's SsangYong—and produced the Scorpio N, a relic of the last century! Hahahaha!

Just like India buying LCD panel technology from Japan that is half a century out of date—and spending hundreds of millions of dollars on it, then crazily hyping it up as a great achievement. When I first saw that propaganda, full of "vision and ambition," I laughed so hard my jaw dropped. hahahaha
There’s another data point: India is already the world’s second-largest steel producer (having long surpassed the United States) and continues to grow rapidly. on the verge of overtaking China.
