Wing Commander Liaqat Hayat Khan Served As Officer Commanding For Squadron No #14 And Squadron No #9.
He Also Served Alongside Air Chief Marshal Mushaf Ali Mir (Late) On Deputation To Train The Fighter Pilot / Flight Cadets Of The Newly Formed Abu Dhabi Air Force (Now UAEAF) In Abu Dhabi In 1980.
He Was Also Awarded Sitrae-E-Basalat By The Cheif Of Air Staff PAF Before Passing Away In 1984.

PAF remembers and pays tribute to the valiant and brave air warrior - Air Cdre Syed Saad Hatmi on his death anniversary, who was known for his daring and dashing personality.
During his initial career as a promising fighter pilot of PAF, Hatmi served various fighter units of PAF. He also had the rare honour of being selected for exchange posting with Royal Air Force. This experience led him to be later known as the legend who flew the Indian Gnat.
When war broke out in 1965, Flt Lt Hatmi was serving in the elite No 11 Sqn under the legendary command of Sqn Ldr MM Alam. Hatmi, as the Flight Commander of a Fighter Squadron, led his formation in numerous Air Defence & Strike missions and is personally credited with the shooting down of one enemy Hunter and one Gnat in the air and destruction of two Tanks and Four vehicles on ground.
The brave air warrior carried out all these missions with high professional skill, determination, courage, and exceptional aggressiveness in the best traditions of the PAF. During the 1971 war, the Sqn under his determined command was credited with two enemy aircraft destroyed and one damaged.
Air Cdre Hatmi remained on various command and staff appointments after the 1971 War, which included the command of No 25 Sqn and No 34 Flying Wing at Rafiqui, Directing Staff at Air War College and Director Plans at AHQ. His long and illustrious career ended in 1979 when he retired from service as an Air Commodore. For his professional ability, devotion to duty and valour, the officer was awarded Sitara-i-Juraat.
Air Cdre Syed Saad Hatmi breathed his last in 2001 and was buried with full military honours at PAF graveyard at Korangi Creek. He will forever be remembered for his courage, professional excellence and exceptional ambition during his years of service in PAF. We salute our brave hero and thank him for his services for Pakistan Air Force and this country....
