Flt Lt Samad Ali Changezi Shaheed was flying Combat Air Patrol near Hyderabad with his leader. Flt Lt Samad had already carved his legacy in the 1971 war, flying eleven operational F-104 missions with unflinching zeal and valor. When Badin radar warned of two hostile fighters slipping in, he pushed his Starfighter into a blistering sprint, diving headlong into a fierce, high-velocity duel. Fighting with absolute commitment to the skies he vowed to defend, the brave son of the soil embraced martyrdom in combat.
