I think the entire Fatah series GMLRS are being assigned Tactical nuclear role. They even labelled Fatah 1&2 with 150 and 400km of range as GMLRS. And now 120 km range Fatah missile is being termed as a missile.
Either warhead weight has been increased couple with anti jamming navigation system, which makes it a missile rather than a guided rocket.

Bloody hell, they turned A100s into precision guided rockets.
If they did that, than that's a huge capability.

My access is restricted to what is available online, so this figure is on the lower side.

Lastly, they keep fine tuning it, so I was surprised when 120km range was announced, when earlier they had successfully carried out tests at 140km.

Just speculating, but this case of 120km seems to be way on the lower side, I was expecting 180/200km.

The range vs payload argument doesn't really apply here since, these rockets have limited space for warheads.

Nonetheless, something "good" seems to be at play here....

I don't think so we can extend A100s range that much, firstly PA had a 100km range A100s than they inducted the E version with 120km. Till than it was a MLRS with interial navigation with a CEP of 50-100m. ISPR explicitly mentioned enhanced navigation and accuracy, this legit alludes to A100s and the Rocket itself doesn't resemble F1
Now it's CEP is more likely between 10-20m. We were lacking in guided munitions for 50-120 km range with A100s this gap is filled.
Indian forward operating Air bases, depot's, C&C can be heavily saturated with these cheaper guided munitions within first few minutes of war.
This would also reduce the burden of Targets from F1.
Huge capability that is.
Just imagine what regiment of these can do to pathankot airbase with a single salvo.
A battery has 6-10 launchers and 6-10 support vehicles a regiment has 3 batteries.
That's 180-300 rockets with a CEP of 10-20 metres.
 
What we need is a home buikt sh-15 and then an improved version of it built with help of China / turkey.
Similarly, for Fatah series atleast, we should explore a MRLS on SH-15 chasis. Bring commonality and make it easier to operate and manage.
