PAF - air-launched munitions | News, updates, and discussions

Well this was at NASTP, he seems to be briefing him, why brief someone on a munition that u won't induct.
This was not some expo, where he was being briefed!!!!!!!!!!.
It's very common to brief someone on everything

If they don't then I will be concerned about their professionalism

Boosted Range Extension Kit
Range 190-220 KM.

Russians are causing havoc with their crude glide bombs in Ukraine.

Pakistan already used these in active combat long before, against India during op swift retort and more recently against targets in Iran.

Mr u r one of the biggest doubter on PDF. Don't know someone cheated on or dumped u but think straight don't come to conclusion all of a sudden and learn to using fking google and u could have find that ur self.
Here's ur picture

You claiming it so its burden upon you to prove it or provide a backup for your claim, air chief and army chief visited lot of foreign stall in defense exhibition/IDEAS in karachi that doesn't means we bought everything that army chief and air chief were visited there, have some logic and common sense unless you give backup of your claim if you don't I would consider it as your baseless speculations

I would like to request @Waz to pin this thread as I think it's a good main thread to discuss our air-launched munition strike options.

Some new additions:

🇵🇰 AZB-81LR Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) — this turns the MK.81 into a miniature cruise bomb with an IIR seeker that can reach ranges up to 120km - 200km. Utilising both low observable features and AI algorithms for advanced targeting and networking.

🇵🇰 Burq family of small air-to-ground missiles for use on UCAVS like Shahpar.

1000020894.jpg

🇨🇳 Chinese CM-400AKG air-launched ballistic missile in use on JF-17s.

Range:
180 - 250KM
Speed: Mach 4 - 5 (terminal phase)
Warhead: ~ 150 - 200kg, HE/penetration
Total weight: ~900kg
Guidance: INS/GPS, terminal active radar, anti-radition or IR seeker
Flight profile: Qausi-ballistic, terminal dive

1000020900.jpg

🇵🇰 Rasoob-250 air-launched cruise missile

Range:
350 km
Weight: 285 kg (with booster)
Warhead Weight: 75 kg
Warhead Type: Semi-Armour Piercing
Cruise Speed: Mach 0.7
Accuracy: Under 5 m CEP
Seeker: TBD (possibly GNSS, INS, TERCOM/DSMAC, and/or IIR)

🇵🇰 Taimoor — air launched cruise missile, dual role anti-ship & land attack

Weight: 1,100-1,200 kg
Range: 290 km (export restriction) – possibly upto 500 - 600KM like the Ra'ad 2
Cruise Speed: Mach 0.7-0.8
Mid-course: INS aided with GNSS/GPS & DSMAC/TERCOM
Warhead Types: ~ 300 - 400kg, blast fragmentation, penetration & pre-fragmentation
Terminal guidance: Imaging Infrared (IIR)
Propulsion: Unknown miniature turbojet (possibly NESCOM NTJ-V1)

PAF should make the Rasoob the mainstay conventional cruise missile

WHat is special about it from Raad or Raad 2 ALCM ?

Smaller, more cost-effective, can be launched by wider range of platforms, stealtier, Raad series is too over specialized in nuclear strike role, plus a smaller cruise missile like the Rasoob is more attractive for export customers packaged with the JF-17 or the drones in development.

Maybe do a google search and find that out yourself
You took time to tell me that? Man you could have done better, you could have IGNORED.

Did the research its lighter weight ALCM, can be launched via helicopter and slow air crafts which obviously Raad cant.

Thanks @Toxic

ALCM are good. but we need something in supersonic to hypersonic category ALCM. For e.g. in the green highlighted area which is great plains in India slow moving Raad or Taimoor or Rasoob might get detected as there is no terrain masking elevations in ground.

They serve different purposes, Rasoob type missiles are still very important, also its ability to be launched by helicopters is primarily for the Navy to replace its Exocets plus it can also be carried by smaller ships like the gunboats we are building with collaboration with swiftships

The Rasoob-250 is a lightweight, stealthy cruise missile with an emphasis on platform flexibility and low observability, potentially hinting at future integration with advanced fighter aircraft. The Ra'ad is a standoff ALCM designed for fast-jet platforms, with both conventional and nuclear capabilities, and an enhanced range variant.

Next gen networked enabled weapons, what could that be apart from BVR air to air missiles
