PAF Conducts successful test of indigenously developed FAAZ BVRAAM

More visuals in this one. There is another missile on the other wing.

Interesting - it shows how the frames of the Faaz and SD-10 missiles are the same, while the specs show that the internals are different.

Can this missile be carried on the wingtip on the blk2/1/3 JF17A/B/C? That would be a big win. Will it have scanning capability like MICA IR or IRST-IR? Aftre all it it IIR like those modern missile but way longer range exceeding MICA-IR by 40%, and PL10E, IRST, AIM9X by 200-300%.

I am just waiting for trolling across the border, disgusting comments coming up soon. It is less than an Astra Mk1, far less than an Astra Mk2, and no match for the Meteor missile, etc., etc. Just waiting for that to happen.

This is the first BVRAAM that Pakistan has domestically produced. You think Pakistan will sit idle now? The range will be increased manifold. Ye have some faith.

The Hindutva will be put in their place. They are going to cry rivers of blood.

My observations...

No proximity fuse antennas visible
The missile is light weight as its a rail launch like sidewinders, and not a drop launch like AMRAAM or SD 10

Whats the point of the licensed sd10 when you have pl15

Unless they want replicate it for air to ground, drones and other things like Turkey is doing

similar range of amraam and sd 10.
First off..., Aim-120 (AMRAAM) is a BVR.

The SD-10 falls in the same category as the Aim-9 (Sidewinder).

Claims are that this (Fa'az) is a BVR.

Okay..., but what's the range?

We've seen the video of it being fired off a JF-17, but it doesn't show of a target being hit.

It would have been nice had they shown a lil' bit more like ... 👇

its not SD 10, as it has no proximity fuses and its IR guided .
Also SD 10 is drop launched, this one is rail launched.
Both are pointy and scary

Can these be integrated across our whole fleet i.e on the F16s and J10s ?
You're joking about the F-16's, right?

I mean, you won't face too many issues from China. Doubt they'll care.

Just try asking the Americans to integrate this on their Vipers.

The US has given the nod to Turkey & the UAE (EDGE)..., and maybe !srael too*.

*Not to sure about that one.

Because this is a lower cost missile that can taken on the drones, uavs and other lower tier targets where you dont need a top of the line PL15E.

Now way is the range of the SD-10(70-100km) the same as the AIM-9(16-35km) .. no way. Come on ....

Mashallah!!! PAF has come so far!

From zero BVR missiles when the online forums started (still remember the PakDef days and hoping PAF had Sparrow and Darter missiles) to today - our very own FAAZ being tested on our very own JF17! Wow!
MashaAllah, MashaAllah, wonderful news.

Your words are exactly what I was thinking. It's Allah's mercy and blessing that had led us to see this day.

Sorry-sorry. My Bad.

I got confused with the PL-10 which is actually infrared-guided air-to-air missile.

Apologies to @maxpane . You were right, but I still won't compare the SD-10 with the AMRAAM.
