Mashallah!!! PAF has come so far!

From zero BVR missiles when the online forums started (still remember the PakDef days and hoping PAF had Sparrow and Darter missiles) to today - our very own FAAZ being tested on our very own JF17! Wow!

Hey, that was the time when even the imagination of having a long range bvr was a dream for us.

Not against Rafale. The Indian version has self regeneration and invisibility cloak. The Indian rafales re assemble themselves after falling to the ground and disintegrating. Same as they did last time when we saw pieces of rafale burning in the fields . Then IAF claimed no losses.
The rafale reassembled transformers decepticon style , and flew away

Not really

You first need some aircraft with powerful radar & IRST that can get in vicinity of lets say F35 to launch Faaz BVR.Nothing of this sort exists in PAF arsenal.
With the way Americans & their enemies are on killing spree in the region, and disrupting the trade routes, Pakistan really needs J35 for some reliable military option in hands.

You're right. According to the Turkish defense analysts, ASELSAN has developed a stealth-finding radar using a combo of different techniques. IRST would do the rest...

Ok, thats one observation. I counted 8 diamonds . That indicates a very clean an focused exaust gas flow .

But there's something else too. Far more spicy. Potentially it can start a riot on this thread .

Even stealth Jet engines mate have a tendency. They still have a heat signature . People have to remember you still got hot exhaust gas at hundreds of degrees leaving your tailpipe at very high speeds. And I know Americans have used on the F-117 and B2 fitted heavy shielded exhausts and use mix cold air to lower the temperature. The f-22 has nozzles shaped to break up the heat plume but you just can’t make a jet engine not be hot it’s not just the engine the jet creating air friction heats up both the aircraft itself and the surrounding air. The faster you fly the hotter it all gets . So even at a distance brother a fighter jet flying at high speed has a very measurable IR signature against the colder background of the upper atmosphere. IR tracking systems are passive they don’t emit anything just point in the sky specifically in the infrared spectrum searching for something hot? My long post point is you cannot out stealth heat. The only problem on IR -seeking stuff is it’s range and Downside is the weather clouds rain effects infra red big Time . You can really build a good doctrine around finding stealth with IRST on fighter jets .

It's a good second tier missile that will complement PL 15 Very well.... it's over own child and that's important.
