J-10CP will be scaled up in batches depending upon Rafale induction & retiring PAF squadrons , with max of 5 - 6 sqd envisaged spread over next 5 - 8 years, The tech upgrades in sub systems & ammunition from china is an obvious advantage.

The J10S, the two-seater version of the J10, made its first successful flight in December 2003, and the first prototype has been exhibited in the Aviation Museum.

The Chinese Air Force is armed with a significant number of J10S.

Last year, Canada Air Force CP-140 reconnaissance aircraft came to the East China Sea to cause trouble. The Chinese Air Force sent two J10S to intercept and drive away

China has a large J10 fleet at some point it will start retiring them, would it be a option or make sense to pick.up ex Chinese J10s if they still have life in them

The PLAAF is indeed equipped with a lot of J10 fighters, and some of the earlier models are being retired.

Early models: J10 Basic, J10A, J10S, J10AH, J10ASH, these J10s totaling about 300+ and are being withdrawn from PLAAF. These aircraft are relatively backward in all aspects, and the retired second-hand goods are not worth the PAF.
Transitional model: J10B, in small quantities, only a few dozen.
The current model: J10C, the main model that PLAAF is now equipped with, it will not be retired for a long time. By the time these J10C are retired, PAF should be out of sight. And, PAF now owns the J10C.

So, the J10 retired by PLAAF is unlikely to appear in PAF.

Rumor has it that the J10A, which was retired by PLAAF, appeared in North Korea, but there is no evidence to confirm this news..........
