I won't be surprised if PAF now wants another batch of further improved J-10s.

let's go for J35

I agree but I think PAF would look to beef up the J-10 fleet with maybe another 24-28 J-10s.
Indians won't trust Rafale anymore and even the contracts are likely to be canceled. Indians will not also believe in 5G fighters like Su57 to challenge Chinese fighters and the next one to come up is bound to be F35. you guys dont need more J10C's and should use your resources on J35.

PAF has F16 and Mirage retire, so maybe few squadrons more J10 will do the job.

This time, PAF demonstrated its complete defensive and counterattack capabilities. But going deep into the enemy's interior and beheading for attack is another matter. The main purpose of Jf17/j10c is defense, which is different from the widely promoted multi-purpose 4.5-generation multi-purpose aircraft around the world. We are well aware that in a truly high-intensity war, the attacking side plays a huge role with stealth fighter jets. The J35 is the true pioneer, followed by multi-purpose fighter jets and various unmanned aerial vehicles for precise strikes. I think if Pakistan has enough funds, they will purchase both J10C and J35. It depends on the situation. India is pressing very hard, and Pakistan may not have enough time to wait for KAAN to mature. Moreover, India will continue to strengthen its navy, and they will cooperate more deeply with the United States at sea. Pakistan definitely needs amphibious stealth fighter jets to be included in its complete combat system

I think you're absolutely right. Indians have embarrassed Dassault, Sukhoi and MiG, but the French must truly be pis*ed with IAF. The request by IAF for source code of Rafales will now most likely fall on deaf ears. Lockheed, looking to sell F-35s to IAF will be scratching their head.

The latest and unmistakable proof that J0CP downed an Indian jet

The passed away grandpa chief designer of J10 is smilingly up there as he looking down on his child safe guarding the sky of South Asia.
All those hard work under limited funding, limited resources when our country was still poor pays off.

Now CAC has become a giant itself with J20, J36, CCA drone projects etc.

It seems the Chinese are the ones who informed the Pakistani foreign minister that the J10 CP is the one that downed the Indian jet. This should end the comedown: "That Chinese weapon is unproven in the battle."

Pakistan claims Chinese-made J-10C fighter jets used against India’s air force

If involvement in downing of five Indian aircraft is confirmed, it would be the J-10C’s first known air-to-air kill recorded in live combat

Pakistan has claimed it used Chinese-made J-10C fighter jets against India’s air force in a brief military encounter on Wednesday.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the country’s military said five Indian aircraft had been shot down in the latest armed conflict over Kashmir and other disputed regions along the South Asian neighbours’ border.

India has yet to comment on the claim.
Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s foreign minister, separately told parliament that it was J-10C jets that shot down the Indian warplanes, with the five including three Rafale fighter jets.
“Our jet fighters … shot down Indian Rafales, three Rafales [that] are French,” said Dar. “Ours were J-10C. All of these are jet fighters in collaboration with China.”

India strikes at Pakistan as Islamabad vows retaliation

If confirmed, it would be the Chinese fighter jet’s first known air-to-air kill recorded in live combat. It would also mark the first loss of Rafale aircraft in combat.

CNN quoted a French intelligence official as saying one Rafale operated by India had been downed by Pakistan, adding that they were looking into whether more than one had met the same fate.

Debris that appeared to come from Chinese PL-15E missiles was also found in Punjab, India, on Wednesday, according to local media reports. That could suggest the Pakistani forces fired the missiles from J-10C or JF-17C Block 3 aircraft – the only two compatible jet platforms known to be active in the region.

The PL-15E missile is the export version of the PL-15 air-to-air stand-off missile. The original PL-15 has a dual-pulse solid-propellant rocket motor that can reach Mach 5 speed and is guided by an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar seeker with midcourse datalink updates. The export version reportedly has an inferior motor, with the range reduced from 300km to 145km.

As for the J-10, the single-engine, multirole combat aircraft was designed and made by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group. It entered service in the Chinese air force from 2003.

The J-10C is the most upgraded version of the series, equipped with a better engine and more advanced AESA radar. It can launch PL-15 missiles and is described as a 4.5-generation fighter.

Outside China, the Pakistani air force is the only other operator of the J-10C fighter. The PAF in 2020 ordered 36 of the export version of the J-10CE, together with 250 PL-15E missiles. The first batch of six planes was delivered in 2022, and to date, 20 J-10C are in service in the PAF.

In January 2024, the J-10Cs took part in the model’s first-ever, cross-border live combat mission, escorting the PAF’s other fighter jets and drones to conduct an air strike inside Iran against Baloch separatist groups. Those J-10Cs did not engage in air combat.
Egypt has voiced interest in the jet. An Egyptian military officer was filmed sitting in a J-10C during a bilateral joint drill that ended on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan is planning to replace its Soviet-era fighters and is reportedly deciding between the J-10C and Rafale.

During his remarks before Pakistan’s parliament, Dar said the Chinese ambassador to Islamabad and his team went to his office at 4am Wednesday following the military actions and that the two sides communicated “all details”.
“Being a friendly country, they expressed great happiness,” the foreign minister said.

The shoot-down was, more accurately, a contest between systematic air warfare and unsystematic air warfare. The result is obvious.

I don't deny the lethality of the combination J-10CE/JF-17B3 + PL-15E. But something more systematic is hiding behind them. If we throw away the support of systematic air combat system, the result of the battle may change a bit.

Therefore, PAF should continue to deepen and strengthen systematization. This includes offensive and defensive systems.
For example, India fired missiles to hit Pakistani civilian facilities. So far, we have not seen Pakistan's air defense system make corresponding interception moves against these missiles.
This is not to say that Pakistan's air defense system is ineffective. Rather, there are still many blind spots in Pakistan's homeland air defense.
At present, Pakistan's air defence systems are too few in number and can only achieve air defence missions in key areas. For the vast Indo-Pakistani border, Pakistan is currently unable to achieve a wider range of air defense coverage.

Currently, the PAF is more combat capable than the IAF. With limited funds, it is all the more important to consider the balance of Pakistan's overall military strength.

I won't be surprised if PAF now wants another batch of further improved J-10s.

I hope we build at least one squadron of SEAD optimized J-10s to deal with the expected increase in Indian air defense they will surely put up, considering the poor showing by their pilots.

A bespoken version with a WS-15 inspired version of the WS-10 engine, to maximize the electricity for the Jammers and to give the max thrust to carry the heavy jammer set from the J-16D.

Instead of F-16CJ wild weasels we can call these J-10s the Wild Dragons.

Also considering the limits of what can be done with the F-16s, perhaps a similar role for the PAF Block 15s could do a similar role if upgrade with modern Turkish jamming pods, based on the Havasoj tech.
