Yeah, the lack of foresight in gaining stealth will really hurt them now.

China is not even an option for India to fight, If PAF downed Rafales with export Chinese EW and missiles, one can only imagine the absolute massacre that would take place with J-20s, J-35s and frontline Chinese missiles. Would not even be a contest more like a training exercise for China
It's funny really, they could have had SU-57s by now even if they are not true 5th gen fighters it would atleast given them something to cope with.

98m nautical miles is the longest air to air kill in history right?
The Russian Air Force Su-57 with an R-37M took down the Ukrainian Sukhoi-27 from a range of 217km (about 140 miles) in 2022.

This would most likely make the kill the longest on record

However, this 98 nm/181 km kill of a Rafale might be the longest-ranged shootdown of a Western-made fighter.

Your concern is normal, but it's also a redundant concern.

Under the Russia-India agreement, HAL has been recognized by Russia to take the Indian-assembled Su-30MKI to the international market. That is, Russia allows Indian-assembled Su-30MKIs to compete with Russian in the international arms market.

Why do you think Russia will allow India to do this? In your place, would you allow it?

Why do you think Russia has banned the export of Chinese produced Su-27 family fighters? But agreed to Indian exports.

It would be a real threat if someday Russia bans India's Su-30MKI exports.

The best Viper in the world is in the US.

The best Flanker in the world isn't in Russia.

Think PAF invested very heavily in HAS, not just at PAF bases, but if you look at every civila airport in Pakistan you will notice 4 HAS at both ends. We knew this day would come, explains why no losses on the ground to Indian missiles. In fact a quick look at Indian bases shows we are far ahead of them in this area

The Erieye are not stored in HAS. If you look at them, they are always stored in hangers, not HAS. That needs to change given how important they are to PAFs doctrine.

Yes, you are right. I am unsure if HAS for AEW/AIrliner sized planes exist though, blast pens maybe our only option here

Very difficult and expensive, think some Nordic countries have these and the Swiss, built into mountainsides. Most of our airbases are not near mountains

Yep - difficult but still an issue - they need to find a solution quickly in the era of Brahmos - the current approach is not good enough, we can see that.

PAF was lucky that they could not target a Erieye on the ground but they will do so next time, probably more so than any other asset that PAF operates! (though they did take a shot at a Erieye via an S400 missile which was intercepted).

Best thing is dispersal. Bhramos can hit targets, that is the easy part,, it is finding them that is hard.

Brhamos hit the main maintenence hangers at Bholari and Shabaz. Those things are massive and easy targets. During ware unlikely anything is stored there, my guess is any damage to any PAF plane was by shrapnel.

Even harder with HAS. Not only must you penetrate them, but also figure out if there is a plane there or not.

Likewise with Erieye, the best defence here is dispersal. 100% certainty not all our Erieyes were at their usual bases at Kamra or Bholari.

PAF has a list of satellite bases, around 12. Add Pak vivil airports that becomes around 20 dispersal locations. Finding an Erieye in real time then hitting it will be hard.

Finally decoy planes were/can be used to further make targeting difficult.

Likely it was a Mirage 2000 instead of one of the Rafale claimed because there was a m2k nose cone seen.
