Before the “5.7 Air Battle,” many Pakistanis may have supported the PAF continuing to purchase additional SAAB Erieye AEW&C systems.
After the “5.7 Air Battle,” if you still support the PAF purchasing additional SAAB Erieye AEW&C systems, then you need to learn more.

For the PAF, the biggest issue with the SAAB Erieye AEW&C is that it cannot guide any Chinese-produced missiles.
Yes that is true. PAC has modified saab 2000 and now data link is connected to pak chinese platforms. ZDK is just used for intel role.

So that does mean both China and Sweds have agreed on the integration.
Swedes aren't the big military industrial complex that tends to control customers through weapon sales. They may have looked the other way, or co-operated or simply did not know how much customization we have done on our own to their systems.

We are the largest operator of the Erieye so I don't think the Swedes really mind all much

Yeah, unlike most major weapons suppliers they have no geopoltical or economic ambitions. In fact from MFI-17, to RBS-70 to Erieyes, they have always been pretty reliable

No SAAB from the initial time allowed to integrate the link system other then Link-16, we In Pakistan use Link-17 for al our assets other then F-16 which use Link-16.

So all assets acquired from China also use Pakistan's own Data link and integrated with Link -17

The Erieyes were the ones guiding the PL-15s through the Pakistani datalink

The SAAB's datalink and communications protocol is based on the NATO standard Link16, which is not capable of controlling the PL-15E.

If it's not the ZDK-03 guiding the PL-15E, then it's the J10C's ASEA's LPI capability.

Hi,

Love it---so the confusion would be---who is controlling what---saab or the ZDK---pr the aircraft itself---?

The ZDK will probably go back to turn them into a Y-8 version of the Y-9LG (High New 13).

unveiled in 2017, and IMHO, now that a newer version is available (Y-9GR aka High New 17), it’s more likely it will be available for sale to Pakistan, similar to how the KJ-500 is likely available because the KJ-700 is starting to come into service.

a radar jamming aircraft (dubbed Y-9LG/YLG-9?) using its powerful electronically steered radar beams to suppress enemy radar signals. Y-9LG appears to feature a SATCOM antenna on top of its forward fuselage, a forward EW antenna in a bigger nose cone, side-looking ESM/ELINT antennas (next generation multi-baseline interferometers) on its rear fuselage, an oval shape ESM antenna on top of its vertical fin. Additional ESM antennas are seen underneath the forward and rear fuselage. Y-9LG is thought to have been developed with the jamming of all major western AESA radars in mind, including AN/APG/77 and AN/APG-81. The first prototype was built by 2016. A recent image (February 2022) indicated that the first Y-9LG had been built for PLAAF and was being prepared for delivery. Another recent image (January 2023) suggested that Y-9LG is in service with PLAAF (S/N 20x7x? 30211, 30212, 30373, 53151). A recent satellite image (August 2024) indicated that at least one more Y-9LG had been built at SAC. The aircraft is likely to be publicly unveiled at the 80th VJ Day Parade on September 3, 2025

And, don't forget the sats at all orbital levels! Especially, the microsats, known as cubes, float in hundreds right over the entire width and breadth of the battlespaces. And, they have a "thin and hungry" look....
