The cold War monkey models don't really exist anymore. Not necessarily downgraded, but hooks for the customer's preferred TDL and other configuration options.

I doubt this will be advertised unless china wants it to be advertisedPakistani PM will be visiting China in May to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Maybe many new agreements including some defense ones will be signed then ?
Solution is Chinese laser defense weapons for these small dronesWe need to be careful that Indians replicate Ukraine's tactics of using drones to attack Russian airports.
My confusion with the WS-19 not being offered for export is that this engine is primarily for the J35, and the J35 was made with export in mind. What's the implications of the WS-21 engine being used instead of the WS-19, I suppose there will a slight determent?
Every power is watching every aspect of the wars going on anywhere...it won't be easy to replicate the tactics , one must come up with new tactics. We need to be careful that Indians replicate Ukraine's tactics of using drones to attack Russian airports.
If WS19 is in full production paf will get it... right now, China's preference is strong PAF , PLAAF is already well equipped. My confusion with the WS-19 not being offered for export is that this engine is primarily for the J35, and the J35 was made with export in mind.
The Chinese airforce is now taking in large quantities of WS19 so they need sufficient engines and will take priority - that makes sense. If a foreign customer wants the J35 in the meantime, then they need to take the WS21 for now - that makes sense too. But longer term once China meets its WS19 needs, I dont understand why the engine would be blocked to sell, especially to a close ally like Pakistan.
Also I thought the WS21 has a limited production line and its been an interim engine until the WS19 is ready. So it seems strange even if its now more mature but less powerful than WS19.
If you look at the US its shared its latest and sensitive engine on the F35 with its allies.
Why would J-35s be kept at Nur Khan of all the other options due to obvious diplomatic reasons? Unless those hangers are to be built throughout the bases for deployment shifts time by time…
Wtf are SU-57s doing in Algeria?Algeria beat us to the stealth part. They have SU-57s flying around the country.
I agree with that part and would like to further add that the non availability of J-20 for export by CAC could probably prompt the PAF to request certain additions/boosts that are part of J-20 to the J-35P.Maybe. You could look into this issue seriously. You might arrive at a completely opposite conclusion.
My conclusion is that the non-platform performance of the export variant of the FC-31/J-35 will exceed that of the J-35A. (Differences in weapons and ammunition are no longer within the scope of analysis.)
BTW:
According to recently surfaced academic papers, China is currently developing—or may have already completed the development of—a stealth cruise missile specifically designed for the internal weapons bay (IWB) of a fifth-generation fighter. Based on the data disclosed in these papers, it has been confirmed that this is a product intended for export. It is likely designed to serve as a dedicated munition for the export variant of the FC-31/J-35.
Probably some elements downgraded
I’m assuming that the J-35s will see increased usage by Pak Navy, The new Base being reconstructed at Jiwani (saw a tweet) might host them (far from India) and at the perfect spot to give our Navy the very much needed cover against the numerical might of Indian Navy.J 35 will never be based in Bholari.... existing bases or new base in the north.
On the contrary, PAF plans to significantly increase their squadrons in the coming years, Perhaps a numerical match to IAF.Looks like we're seeing the J35 with the PAF sooner than expected, but where does that leave the fleet? I would say no further JF17s, export orders only. Maybe even find a buyer for the Block I aircraft. That would allow further airframes of the J10 to replace Mirages. I'm assuming Vipers stay around until around 2040. That would leave the PFX or whatever comes from that to replace the Vipers.
Correct!I think the J-35 will not grace existing PAF bases. I think there will be special facilities built for it deep into Pakistan, behind significant air defence. Having a premier asset in range of Indian LACM's, which did get through to an extent is suicide.
