PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

If UAE sends her princesses along with dollars even then china will not sell her J 35 in foreseeable future... Certainly , china has a mercantilist mindset however she can't let go of geostrategic chessboard for some dollars... china has no dearth of dollars anyway.

China will sell 100%. Money talks. Secondly, why on earth China wouldn't want a middle east market ? It would definitely want more penetration into extremely rich middleeast market. China is already selling its UAVs and other weapon systems. Also note the UAE purchased L-15 modern chinese jet trainers (widely regarded as trainers for 4.5 & 5th gen platforms). I won't be surprised even slightly if UAE is the first customer of J-35AE.

Lastly, in geopolitics there are no permanent friends and no permanent enemies. What is permanent is business interests. China is 100% business minded (any country should be). That is why they have progressed economically so much. They will NEVER skip business opportunity and future partnership. As you also used the word "geostrategic". It's even more important than business to have such influence over middleeast. When you are purchasing a fighter aircraft then you are practically entering a strategic partnership especially if its a 5th gen platform then its even more relevant. China would absolutely LOVE if UAE approaches it for J-35.

Also in the end, We shouldn't be effected by any means with such a sale. Its a matter of two other foreign countries. We should be only concerned if any weapon system is coming to India and we don't have a counter for that. UAE posses ZERO threat to Pakistan militarily.

Those l-15 were for RSF the sudanese genocidal force one of the l-15 was shotdown by akinchi and u made fairs points abt middle east market but i dont think china gonna sell their fith gen to countries with active us and israeli bases lol when this jet gonna be their primary jet for their navy

It was chinese drone provided by UAE. Not the L-15. Atleast not 100% proven that L-15 was shot down. (yes a CH-family drone was shot though). The UAEF are definitely using L-15s for their own airforce. They are actively doing training with it. They also did fly by in US 250th birthday in the united States. Again it can be possible if they send a few to RSF (not confirmed though) but it do not mean that UAEAF are not using L-15 for themselves. They are training over it.

That's a solid point, but again J-35AE could be a lot different then chinese naval version. (internal communication, EW systems, software etc). The J-35AE is already specifically built only for exports. If they cut down their export market only limited to Pakistan and few other countries then it makes no sense from business point of view.

I really do not think UAE is getting the J-35, small chance but very small.

Part of the huge benefits of a 5th Gen fighter is acting like a node in a network and distributing info to other assets, UAE simply will not be able to do that, instead J-35 will be acting almost alone, albeit with stealth capability. Good chance western fighters based in the UAE (Both Emerati, US and French) will not be able to see it if they cannot interact or communicate with it.

As also mentioned, at every major UAE base there is a host of western contractors, in fact UAE heavily relies upon them. Not only that but Al Dhafra and Al Minad have US assets deployed, UAE will make them leave?

Sorry, just do not see it happening

Fair points but u r missing few things usa have active thaad and Patriots in uae plus Israelis also have aa in uae we dont know yet hwat type of aa they are tho and for u r point abt j-35ae being diff from naval version bro air frame will ramain the same and i dont think so chinese gonna gamble on compromising its signatures also j-35ae is supposed to be sold the allays of china or at least the countries which dosent have us airbases and i am positive abt one L-15 being downed by akinchi in sudan few months back turks official literally were showering akinchi with praises

I am not seeing any arab country buying j-35ae plus this thing abt j-35ae being sold to uae was started after reports of turkiye selling s-400 to them which are not confirmed yet and also i dont understand what they gonna do with s-400 when it not gonna integrate with their existing defence shield plus for me more plausible buyer from turkiye is azerbaijan has they already have s-300 and other russian aa

Sometimes, watching a lot of people talking nonsense with a straight face can actually be quite entertaining. Despite their complete lack of basic military and political common sense, they spoke with great confidence and assertiveness, refusing to allow anyone to question their views.

BTW.
The L-15 trainer aircraft sold by China to the UAE are special models intended for airshows, not standard trainers or combat aircraft. These aircraft have undergone special modifications to suit airshow purposes. If these aircraft were to be used for combat, they would require further modifications. Reports indicate that the UAE plans to purchase an additional 36 L-15 trainer aircraft, but this plan has not yet been implemented.

There is already a J35AE (under AVIC banner) showcased on CCTV. If you know anything about how CCTV is run in China you know China has already secured and greenlit export of J35A to somebody. It is very unlikely that any country other than Pakistan will become the first export customer of a Chinese 5th gen fighter.

The major issue that Pakistan faces today isnt lack of 5th generatiom fighter jets but numbers of aesa capable fighters. India is testing a locally developed AESA for its SU-30MKI fleet. That is 200+ aesa capable fighters. Add Tejas and Rafael to that and by 2032 India will have around 300 AESA capable fighter jets. Pakistan need to answer that. So more JF-17 Block 3 and more J-10CE is the need of the hour. Not some 40 J-35 after which PAF will not be able to buy anything for next 5 years.

So china will be actually doing a favor to Pakistan by postponing any alleged deal of J-35 and delaying deliveries by 2028 end atleast. By then we should try to add 70-80 J-10CE and JF-17B3.

Pakistan would need J-35s if India does actually start construction on our rivers.

Can anyone evaluate J-35s for their A2G capabilities?

You destroy their dams, and pakistan floods. They retaliate and destroy our dams. And again pakistan floods. Good strategy.

Taking control of the land which is the source of our waters is better than destroying any useful infrastructure already built by the enemy saving us time and money.

The assumption that Pakistan's critical infrastructure will not be targeted, be it in the disputed areas or Pakistan proper, Is false.
