PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

Since when is Pakistan the most likely buyer? My bet would be another Country.
If you mean an Arab nation is more likely, I disagree. Every oil rich Arab nation remains firmly under US influence for such aspects and dare not do anything against US wishes. Do you know that the UAE signed a defence agreement with China, only to be forced to retract it when the US inflicted financial restrictions on the UAE until they got back in line?

PAF has retconned every PR press release since 2024 that has made mention of FC-31/J-35. Idk about any of you but that's a sign to me of PAF re-evaluating its options. Because well yes, PAF does has options for an NGFA, and there isn't that urgent of a need since your main rival is STILL deciding if it wants Rafale or su-57. PAF still hasn't ordered J-10s and JF17 blk3s in numbers that would actually matter and replace legacy airframes. 438 pages of cope and nothing burger claims.

That is because PAF will be getting the KAAN. No matter how long PAF has to wait for this. There is no hurry for PAF to field a 5th gen fighter today. The Mecca Pact is a reality and the goal is to invest in mutual joint ventures and create a joint venture industry.

Literally like 2 days ago indian air chief said that pakistan is buying j-35 and they need more fighter jets to counter it

He is only saying this to create hype and panic so that Indian Air force can justify their own spending and accelerate the acquisitions.

The writing is on the wall: PAF is prepared to wait this one out. Many are overlooking the fact that KAAN is also in the mix. While the Turkish aerospace industry is making steady progress, PAF has the luxury of time and is monitoring Turkey's domestic engine program very closely.

Pakistan should provide funding for the KAAN project to obtain the right of first refusal and accelerate the development of the KAAN fighter jet

Only a matter of time. Pakistan’s interest in the KAAN goes beyond a standard foreign military purchase. It is structured as a deep industrial and co-development partnership.

Kamra and Turkish Aerospace Industries have signed frameworks moving toward joint production, component manufacturing and localized integration.

PAF has declared this many times, the KAAN is viewed as a cornerstone for long term technological autonomy and diversification away from single source dependencies.

Turkish defense officials view the indigenous KAAN fighter program as a critical asset, vital not only to national air superiority, but also to advancing foreign policy and security partnerships internationally i.e. Mecca Pact.

Chefs keeping things under the hood.
The fundamental reason for this phenomenon lies in the existence of two vastly different cultural systems.

In Chinese culture, the principle of "honoring one's word" (delivering on promises) is of central importance. If entities such as AVIC, SAC, CATIC, or other official bodies were to comment on or express opinions regarding potential export orders for the FC-31/J-35 at the initial stage of interest, public expectations would immediately soar.

In reality, however, numerous factors influence such prospective orders, and their actual conclusion is far from certain.

Should a deal fail to materialize, these organizations would face public scrutiny and skepticism. The consequences of making bold claims that do not come to fruition are severe; the public would seriously question the organization's credibility and might even re-evaluate its past reputation, potentially plunging the entity into a profound crisis of trust.

In Pakistan, such actions might elicit verbal criticism or public backlash, but in China, the repercussions can be far more drastic: individuals could be dismissed and their careers permanently ended. In particularly serious cases, those involved might even face legal liability.

Consequently, these organizations generally refrain from making statements until a deal is fully confirmed.

Please stop rubbing your culture and it's nuances at our faces ...we are least interested in this goobledegook....in china and in Pakistan no one has the balls to question such decisions made by the higher ups .

Arab nations are more than likely to become customers of J-35AE. I will try to explain my view.

J-35AE is an export variant. The export variant is never built for a single customer in mind. China wants more buyers. China's AVIC do exhibit in the defense expos whenever they are held in UAE / KSA. They would absolutely love to enter in this market. Slowly and gradually arab nations are buying chinese gear starting from UCAVs, L-15s. The chinese drones in hands of KSA/UAE have seen a lot of action. These countries know how important chinese weapons are becoming.

While you are right the GCC countries have remained firmly in US grip for a long time. But all of them are aware of China's rise. Also with passage of time, USA's absolute monopoly over technology and military power is decreasing and so is their grip on foreign countries. I won't be surprised if J-35AE is adopted by some of GCC countries.

We buy from the China despite tremendous US influence over us and overly dependent fragile economy on US / IMF. The americans didn't sanction us or China for doing so. As I said, their golden days of absolute monopoly are over.

So, nothing stays same in geopolitics. The same arabs / KSA placed war like oil embargo on the US and all western countries in the 1970s when EU and US were supporting Israel. Interestingly those times Iran was super supporter of US & West and opened their oil for the west & Israel. Then post 1979 things totally changed. and After Soviet collapse no one really had the choice but to accept US dominance & monopoly. Its not the same anymore.
